“Nurse Emma and Physical Therapist Colin are amazing. They helped me with my transition from hospital to home after CABG surgery. I was very disabled for the first two weeks. However, the office did not send Occupational Therapy or an aide to assist me with personal care in a timely manner. No one called or scheduled the OT or the aide during the first 2 weeks of being home from hospital. Finally told Colin to cancel OT and Aide as their services were no longer needed. I desperately needed their help when I was first home not 2 weeks later. This was a scheduling issue with the office not following through. The services I did receive were excellent.“

“My 86-year-old mother who lives with us in a downstairs apartment was hospitalized 7 times in a period of 4 months. She has several chronic conditions and, after her last stay, was bed-ridden due to weakness and de-conditioning. We had utilized a rehab center after one of her hospitalizations, but they were not equipped to care for her multiple needs, and she ended up bag in the hospital from there with pulmonary edema. In November after her latest hospital stay, we decided it would be best to have someone come and help her in her home as she worked her way back to being able to stand and walk. We chose Thrive at Home for that care.
We were extremely pleased with the care that she received. The caregivers were knowledgeable and kind.We started with 12 hours per day and gradually dropped hours as she was able to become more independent and back to her old self. After a couple of months of care along with PT and OT from another home health company, my mother was able to recover and is now nearly back to her old level of independence with only my occasional help.
Everyone at Thrive at Home was helpful, always checking to see what we needed and how it was going, the nurse who evaluated her was clear and took a lot of time to understand my mother's many health issues, and the caregivers were reliable and able to bathe her and take care of her when she was at a very low point in her life. I would not hesitate to call them again if my mother needs help in the future.“

If I ever have a request for my brother, Terrence Bunce, it is always addressed immediately. My brother Terry loves the staff. He has been there for several years. Fell on some steps while looking at a house for rent and broke BOTH leg bones close to his ankleI drove up from my home in NC to VA to help out and somehow together we found a different house to rent, moved him in, got him to surgery and back to his house with some medical equipment (wheelchair, shower transfer seat, etc.).THANK YOU, Monument Homecare!!!At that point, we needed PROFESSIONAL help — my brother was going to start teaching at GMU in a week and I needed to get back to NC.We talked with a large company and they seemed okay, but next we called Monument and met Simo. We were immediately impressed by why and how Monument was established and the services they could provide, by Simo’s experience, qualifications, professionalism and personal interest in my brother’s well-being (even though my brother’s situation was unique). Monument was hired on the spot and with Simo’s care and help, my brother was able to start his new position at GMU and I was able to return to NC knowing my brother had the best of support services.Our relationship with Monument continued … my brother ended up with two surgical infections and again, Simo was able to help him through that ordeal as well as settling into a new city because Monument is local and flexible — not just another huge corporate “care” company!
