Doug came and made measurements - We picked the Canadian solid hardwood (which did not seem to have been affected by the tariffs yet) waited for the amount of time we had been given exactly and then scheduled it with Allen. Anytime I called, he picked the phone. Katherine handled the quotes and invoicing - their crew came with three truck 6 men team and finished the job in 5 hours - fantastical results. Price-wise you might be paying just a little bit over than the cheapest contractor, but I assure you that it is well worth to have the business done with the professional and trusted people for a very acceptable margin. I recommend Clawes Oakton to everyone who needs hardwood - PS: We picked Mirage and they are amazing - shockingly our Husky has not scratched it (yet)“

Importantly, he is also experienced in working on insurance repairs. Project Manager Hakan was very thorough and detail-oriented during the construction phase. From Daniel's first visit, looking into all the parameters that should be considered when going to refinish floors of two smaller rooms on the 3rd level, and recommending where to create the virtual "stop" so there will be minimal ability to realize what is old and what is new;
through the scheduling process that managed to take into account our travel and time constrain;
to the team that came to do the work and were all communicative, helpful and focused;
to the project itself, that was not without dust, but so well managed by the team that we could not feel it in the house;
to the job coordinator\manager that stopped by to see that the project is moving forward as expected;
to the final product, refinished floors in two rooms, that simply look amazing, and are a total match to the rest of the house!

We were in the area and randomly walked into the Custom Floor & Design store in Chantilly, where we were warmly greeted by Albert Kim. We initially told him we were “just looking,” but after seeing the wide range of flooring options — carpet, hardwood, vinyl planks, and more — we were impressed by the variety and quality. Albert patiently walked us through everything, explaining the differences between products in detail and helping us understand what would work best for our home.

We were specifically looking for carpet for the upstairs bedrooms and vinyl planks for the basement (especially with our dogs in mind). Albert gave excellent suggestions and offered us a very fair price on everything. He then scheduled a time for measurements, came out promptly, and took the time to measure everything accurately. He explained what would work best in each area, making sure every detail was planned correctly before the installation.

The installation was scheduled quickly, and both crews were fantastic. The vinyl plank crew, led by Mr. Lee, and the carpet crew, led by Mr. Louis, were professional, respectful, and friendly throughout the process. I made some last-minute changes to the plank layout, and Mr. Lee accommodated them without hesitation.

The day before installation, Albert personally called to confirm everything and showed up on-site during installation to check in and make sure things were going smoothly. He took the time to walk me through the progress, ensured I was completely satisfied, and asked if there was anything more he could do.

The installation was completed in just one day, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Albert also provided all the warranty information and explained how everything works in case any issues arise in the future.

We had an unexpected basement tear out due to water damage and needed to replace basement flooring.

Mr. Diaz came out, talked to us, and provided us with excellent input for our project. We received a detailed estimate broken down into individual tasks with labor and materials broken out.
