“Service provided on 06/25/2025 in Myrtle Beach, SC: I live in Virginia and the A/C at my Myrtle Beach, SC, vacation rental condo suddenly stopped working properly on a 90+ degree day while guests were occupying the unit. My go-to HVAC company would not confirm whether a technician could go over that same day to diagnose and fix the issues, so, I had to look for someone else who could. I called a few companies and setup appointments with two of them. At about 2:15pm, First Choice Heating & Air told me that they could have a technician over between 5-7pm. However, at 2:25pm, I received an automated message telling me that Josh was on his way and that he would arrive in less than 30 minutes, which he did. Josh was very professional, respectful, knowledgeable, and patient. He explained everything that had gone wrong with the indoor AC unit and what he had done to fix it. He also checked the outdoor unit and found it to be working properly. Josh is an asset to this company! I am very, very pleased with the timely service provided by Josh and First Choice Heating & Air. They both proved to be responsive, reliable, and reasonably priced in an emergency. Five days later, my FORMER go-to HVAC company has yet to reach out to let me know when a technician will be available. First Choice Heating & Air is my new preferred and go-to HVAC company and I recommend them to anyone in the Myrtle Beach area who needs their system maintained, serviced, or repaired!“

We’ve utilized the same local HVAC company for more than a decade and have had intermittent issues. The last time left us without our primary ac in our practice for 5 weeks. When I called to get an update, I was told it may be another 3 weeks. I called Cooper, having heard many positives from patients coming thru the office noting our problems. Their techs were down that afternoon. While noting that our blower unit was in need of repair, they opted to rebuild it rather than order a whole new unit. They had us up and running within the week. Of note would be one of the service techs, Eddy, he refused to leave us without air for another day, coming down late in the afternoon to get everything reinstalled and running for us. Working with everyone was easy and efficient. Replacing the entire blower would have been an easier alternative for the techs and is the reason for the delay when we utilized our existing mechanicals contractor. Cannot tell you how pleased we are that Cooper elected to rebuild our existing unit, saving us money and prioritizing the comfort of our patients and staff.

“Mancill used to be a top notch company. Ever since Richard Mancill passed away and the new owner Jimmie Cummins took over the company has gone completely downhill. It is a shame that the name Mancill has become synonymous with poor customer service and shoddy workmanship. My elderly father's $500,000 house got flooded out after a sharkbite fitting that they installed gave way in the wall of his second story bathroom. I contacted the company and Debbie was extremely rude saying it wasnt there problem. She claimed that we were trying to scam them and told me to stop calling. My father ended up having to foot the bill of $10k to fix the damage caused by there shoddy workmanship. The plumbing company I called to fix the leak said only DIY hacks use sharkbite fittings and the water line should of been properly soldered back together since it was concealed in the wall. Never again will I use them and I tell my story so others dont get literally soaked like my father did by this company. Quite a few of my father's friends have said the same thing about the company has gone downhill since old man Mancill passed away and its no longer a reputable service provider.“
