“My Father-in-Law passed away while visiting my wife and I in Alabama. It was a sudden passing and we were caught off guard. Fortunately, he and my mother-in-law had already made their arrangements with Palmetto Funeral Home here in Fort Mill, where they resided currently. Let me tell you... getting a body processed in another state and transported back to the home residence can be quite a chore. Franchesca here at Palmetto FH was AMAZING!! She held our hand and walked us through the process, coordinating with the Funeral Home here in Alabama who performed the cremation and helping us get the processing done so I could bring his remains back to South Carolina and we could hold his service. There was a lot to get done, but with her and Palmetto's help, the process went very smooth. Thank you for standing with our family during that difficult and somber time.”

“It is the Thomas Family Cemetery and includes the body of two Confederate soldiers (brothers) who where in the 53rd NC INF REG. Also there is the wife and child of one of the brothers. From the corner of the street you can see that there is ( falling apart ) wooden enter way and fence (collapsing) around the head stones . There is heavy plant growth that makes the cemetery invisible to cars and people who may go by. You could say that is on purpose to hide the Confederate head stones....but I don't think so. I would suspect that this little triangle piece of land is in private hands...as the head stones are in good shape and this is no over growth inside the fence. The history of the soldiers can be traced and is interesting. These tow may have even fought at Gettysburg. This every so small cemetery is a slice of American History. Where two brother are that gave all they were and all they were going to be”
