Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Funeral Services And Cemeteries

“My dad pre planned his funeral with Bass-Cauthen and they were great to work with. They had everything in order and were able to get the funeral scheduled in a timely manner. I worked directly with Mr. McWatters and he was so kind and answered all of my questions during this difficult time. The team handled everything and the funeral service went smoothly.
Thank you all for what you did to help me navigate how to make sure my dad got the funeral he wanted.
Would definitely recommend them.“

Joseph Thomas Family Cemetery Funeral Services And Cemeteries

“It is the Thomas Family Cemetery and includes the body of two Confederate soldiers (brothers) who where in the 53rd NC INF REG. Also there is the wife and child of one of the brothers. From the corner of the street you can see that there is ( falling apart ) wooden enter way and fence (collapsing) around the head stones . There is heavy plant growth that makes the cemetery invisible to cars and people who may go by. You could say that is on purpose to hide the Confederate head stones....but I don't think so. I would suspect that this little triangle piece of land is in private hands...as the head stones are in good shape and this is no over growth inside the fence. The history of the soldiers can be traced and is interesting. These tow may have even fought at Gettysburg. This every so small cemetery is a slice of American History. Where two brother are that gave all they were and all they were going to be“
