When you loose a loved one unexpectedly, you are not prepared emotionally or do you really know what to do. The hospital and case worker were of little help. McEwen made a very difficult situation much better. They provided guidelines on what needed to be done as well as treated us and my wife's remains with respect and understanding. I, like many of us thought I would never need their services but we will all, as well as our loved ones, will pass through the portal out of this life. McEwen will help those left on this side of the portal deal with the passing.

I was treated extremely well. Alice made me feel like she really cared. I had some financial issues but she worked with me. I never felt embarrassed . When you’re grieving it’s easy to be taken advantage of. That was never the case there. I really appreciated her kindness in my time off grief.

The chapel and reception area were wonderful and exactly what we were hoping to find to honor my mom. We originally were concerned to use a funeral home because they often seem dark and gloomy, but that is not true for McEwen Pineville. The staff, particularly Alice, were so incredibly kind, accommodating, helpful, and hospitable. We loved the idea of a reception following the memorial service, and got a lot of positive feedback from family and friends how special that was to linger after and visit, including how good the food was. Everyone at McEwen made this difficult time easy for us both in planning and putting together a beautiful service.
