“Overall I was satisfied with All Surface Roofing. The folks who answer the phone are very professional & friendly. My estimator was very knowledgeable and provided helpful insights to help me make a decision. One thing I wish I would have requested is to have him mark the cedar shingles that he recommended be replaced. This was a 2-3 shingle bundle project and they are not cheap. The reason I would have liked him to mark the shingles is because I trusted his expert opinion. When the 3-person team came out to replace the shingles-they used their judgement to determine which shingles needed replacement. I’m not confident that their judgement coincided with that of the estimator. After all-it is a judgement call. The replacement team did a fairly good job cleaning up their mess. I would have liked to see the integrity of the shingles they replaced, but they put them into a black garbage bag. If I were to do it over again, I would have asked that they be left out for inspection before being stowed away. I think that is in the interest of both parties. I did make a call to have a crew come back to insure that all exposed staples were driven into their cedar shakes. That project was completed very quickly-much appreciated.
Would I use All Purpose Roofing again-highly likely. But I would follow my advice and have the estimator mark the shingles recommended for replacement. That way everyone is on the same page and we know pretty close to the number of shingles needed to complete the project and which shingles were suspect.“

“A tree fell on my metal roof, C&V were very easy to work with from the begining. From Angel coming out to look at the damage and take pictures, and making sure it was tarped to Karen helping to work with my insurance company, due to problems that my panels no longer were manufactured and the whole section needed to be replaced. The crew was fantastic and did a wonderful job. They made sure it was finished before a thunderstorm came that evening.
There was extra damage when they removed the panels. Karen called to let me know the extra cost and get approval. The final invoice matched exactly what was quoted. My roof looks fantastic.

“We opted to replace our 23-year-old roof before any noticeable leaks and talked to an Elements rep at the Portland Home Show. Bottom line: We have a good-looking roof and a cleaned-up yard. During the process, Elements discovered—and showed us—that nearly all our roof decking (the plywood sheet layer) was warped and needed to be replaced. So, we ended up paying nearly twice as much as originally quoted. (Initial inspections never find this level of “uh oh.” It would have happened with any other roofer.)

Things we liked/appreciated: 1) Quick and thorough responses to our questions – especially detailed questions that helped me compare one bid with another; 2) Ease of reaching and communicating with Jessica, the Operations Manager, who worked with us to schedule our job; 3) Quick and courteous responses from Ben, as well as excellent communication between Ben and the work crew; 4) Ben’s final walk-through with us was on time and thorough.

To consider: Elements involved multiple team members, which sometimes was great and other times resulted in crossed wires. They had to reschedule our initial inspection, and sadly we didn’t speak the same language as the inspector who arrived on the revised date. (The written report was clear and thorough, though.) All in all, replacing a roof is a stressful act of trust for the homeowner. Elements did a solid job for us.“
