Ours was a wood window custom-built for a tilting balcony addition in a 1917 home. They did an excellent job, and it's seamless to the house style, specs, etc. The new opening windows will be beautiful, and they didn't try to oversell or convince us to upgrade specific mechanisms since this room isn't used often.
