“Had a great experience with Doug and Lainie today! I never thought I'd be saying that about a plumber but they are that good.Had some issues with low hot water flow in my shower after my water heater had gotten replaced by seller's contractor, right before I bought my home.I was told by that contractor that I'd need to replace the pipes to fix the issue after replacing the cartridge didn't helpI then had worked through my home warranty company to get a plumber to check it out and he said I'd need to replace the valve for $1650. This was after charging $375 as their minimum service fee, to blow air in the valve to try to unclog it, which didn't work. He also said I'll most likely need to replace some pipes.Luckily I had come across everyone's great reviews for 1st Call! I contacted them and they were so responsive, and kept me updated with scheduling.Then when they came out to give me an estimate for the valve or pipe replacement as recommended by the previous plumbers, Doug was just such an experienced plumber, he decided to try a couple other things first. He was able to clear the debris that was stuck in the valve, no need for replacing anything!! And this was him without even all his tools or work truck, as they were just doing estimates that day! He is like a Macgyver of plumbing and I was so impressed with how he was able to solve this so well when two other plumbers went straight to " you'll have to replace your pipes".Lainie was so kind, and a great presence. I loved that they were going out together on the estimates, just gave me a warm hearted family vibe that is hard to beat.All n all they only charged me their regular service call fee, so instead of costing me thousands!! I had them fix a bathtub drain leak, they replaced my kitchen sink and kitchen faucet, re-piped my interior water pipes from galvanized to pex, re-piped our exterior water line and re-piped our drain lines. “Let’s just start off with I would 100% recommendation Rescue Rooter of Portland. Then entire experience from my first phone call to the end of the service was pleasant even if the reason I needed their help wasn’t lol We had a sink drain that was clogged. First I called and spoke with Terrie who answered all of my questions and was super friendly. I discussed with my husband about the multiple companies i called and their responses to our questions. Hands down, the original call sold me. One company I called never called me back and the other one had a person answer the phone who sounded annoyed I called. So I called Rescue Rooter of Portland back to schedule at that point I spoke with Erika who was also super friendly and got me scheduled for my free estimate. Fast forward to today, my appointment window was 2-6. They gave me a call around 12:15 and said they had someone available early and asked if I’d like to have them out early. Heck yes! So Chris showed up and discussed my issue with me and presented our quote. I called my husband to discuss the quote and Chris was even kind enough to talk to my husband on the phone. Chris even humored my two pups who followed him around while he worked. He made quick work of our clogged sink drain and had things put back together super fast. He even had ideas and offered suggestions on our pipe set up that was under the sink. I would request Chris in the future should I have any other clogs come up. They also offered us a 90 day warranty should the clog come back.“
