20 Allens Creek Rd, Rochester“I had a very good experience at this optometry office. I felt cared for from beginning to end and believed I was in competent and professional hands. I would have wished for three things in retrospect: an Explanation For why exercises for the eyes were preferable than prism lenses, A more clearly articulated step-by-step process of what was to follow after this visit, and Is the case with my primary care physician after each visit, I would have benefited from a written summary of what occurred during the visit and what was to occur after the visit.
Weeks after having a prescription filled by Dr Kaplow…. Previously most of my glasses had prescriptions which were inadequate after a period of time when my eyes would get tired. I have Used the prescription by Dr. Kaplow now for weeks and I can still see as sharp as ever even after an hour or more of reading. I firmly believe the business of making a prescription is more art than science. Other doctors might simply listen for a yes or no, but I’m convinced that Dr Kaplow listens with a more refined ear and many years of experience and that this is what resulted in one of the best prescriptions that I’ve ever had in the 25 years of wearing glasses. I would seek no other doctor for future prescriptions. It doesn’t get any better than this.“

3180 Latta Rd, Rochester“This location in Greece has been the best optometrist and optician experience I've ever had. I don't usually leave reviews for health-related businesses because it's so subjective, but I'm just so impressed with this Whelpley & Paul location. I use glasses for distance on a daily basis, and have contacts for when I'd rather not wear glasses (a couple times a month).
Since receiving my first pair of glasses 10 years ago, I've moved a lot and been to 4 or 5 different doctors and practices, including a different W&P location. The staff's kindness, professionalism, and responsiveness outshine all others. My appointments have been on-time and fast, but not rushed, and it has been easy to contact the office and arrange for more appointments or to order new contact lenses.
Dr. Judith Archer is also pleasant and kind, and she clearly has a ton of experience and knowledge. She took the time to answer all of my questions and was so patient when it took me 10+ minutes to get my new contact lenses in to test them. The new prescription she gave me (in glasses and contacts) is giving me the clearest vision I've had in years---much better even than my first one, which previously was the best pair of glasses I had.
The opticians took my concerns seriously when ordering new frames, and for the first time in years I didn't have to bring the glasses back for different lenses after receiving them. Usually, at other places, the first set of lenses makes me motion sick no matter how much I describe the problem to the optician when ordering. This time, it was perfect from the start. Also, they gave me a copy of my prescription and my pupillary distance measurements when I asked, without giving me a hard time about using online services to order super cheap glasses that I use in situations where the glasses are likely to be damaged or lost, like on vacation or during physical activity. I save my in-store glasses for daily wear.
The selection of frames is a little smaller than I've seen at other practices, but there are still plenty of styles and sizes to choose from. For being such a small physical space, they fit a lot in there.
The location on Latta Road is easy to get to, and parking is almost always available directly in front of the office.
They accept the CSEA EBF vision plan.
I am referring all of my friends and family to this location now, because it's been such a great experience.“

160 Greece Ridge Center Dr, Rochester“Absolutely stellar service from Ashley Bopp and the team at Sterling. Places like LensCrafters or Visionworks are dry, closed off and downright rude sometimes. The staff at Sterling were so helpful, nice, conversational and most importantly—knowledgeable. They gave me great tips and info to help me choose the best lenses. I can absolutely 100% with full confidence say that I will never again go anywhere else for my eyewear needs.“

1644 Monroe Ave, Rochester“Tom is amazing! About a month ago one of the arms of my glasses broke and Tom got me in immediately and within the hour they were fixed (he also had a room full of scheduled patients). Fast forward to less than a week ago and the other arm fell off shortly before I was about to be on a flight. I called Tom and he told me to come in and they were fixed within 15 minutes. All for a very small fee! Tom is a lifesaver and highly suggested if you ever need your glasses repaired in a bind“

This was my first experience at the Monroe Ave. location and it was a pleasant surprise! The staff was fabulous and in tune with eachother, the store was classy and clean and service was amazing. Picked up my glasses fast, and now I can see!!! I also got help with a suggestion for my dry eye! Highly highly recommend!!! Thank you W&P!!“

1855 Monroe Ave, Rochester“Had a great experience here with Dr. Archer and her staff! Started off wanting to try contacts and they were very patient as a I struggled for 30 minutes to get them in and out.
They then worked with my insurance to get a year’s worth of contacts placed, and even gave me a sample pack to hold me over until the shipping order arrived.
Highly recommend!“

We had a conversation with options and then scheduled an appointment. I was fitted with the biometric telescopic lenses and found my vision again. What a Blessing to have someone who really cares about others' vision. Thank you“

Two days ago, I had my LASIK procedure. I was extremely nervous, but you were all so kind and professional. You even played French music for me when you learned I was from France, such a thoughtful gesture.
Today, after 15 years of wearing eyeglasses, I’m writing this review without them, finally. It feels incredible.
Thank you so much for your hard work, care, and professionalism. You truly changed my life.“

When Jo's dementia prevented her from managing and installing her contacts, I did it for her. Dr. Ryan asked me if I wanted a job!? Nicest doctor I ever met!“

2345 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester“Have gone here for many years and always get excellent service. The eye exam is thorough and Dr. Ellemeyer always spends enough time with me to explain tests and results. The office staff is friendly and efficient. The frames and glasses are expensive but you get what you pay for. Had additional frames/lenses made at Americas Best and the difference in the quality is amazing. Reeds is the best!“

381 White Spruce Blvd, Rochester“I’ll tell you the truth, I started coming here about 5 years ago and initially made the decision to find another practice. I was experiencing stress with all the different things they needed to do with my eyes with little to no explanation at the time. I was pretty uncomfortable. But…I kept giving it a try and year after year everything improved. At one point I had a possible emergency and they took me seriously, fit me in to the schedule that day, and then explained what happened and what to expect. I came back this week and saw Celesse who was amazingly thorough at explaining everything, pausing to make sure I understood and was ready for the next step. She was full of joy. Then, I just got off the phone with the optometrist (Marisa?) who was equally pleasant and accommodating. I’m so grateful for this pleasant team of professionals! Kindness goes a long way!“

“I actually just returned to CVG after years of having to use other offices due to insurance changes and I’m so grateful for the opportunity! I was going to this practice when Dr. Baskin ran it & was worried that things would change when he retired but being such a wonderful person himself he seemed to attract the same type of people with his hiring instincts.
The people who run it today are just as warm and welcoming as I remember which is just as important if not more so in this competitive world today. I was greeted right away and never felt ignored or forgotten while I waited. Everyone I interacted with were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and made me feel very comfortable. I’m looking forward to a long and satisfying relationship with this business as well as the people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting today!“
