“This place is the only vet that would accept my new rescue pup these days, as other vets had long wait times and/or were not acccepting new patietns. It was not easy to find them, but im glad I did - the building is in a side street off Jericho turnpike and the building is quite simple. No fancy lights, fragarances, or expensive waiting area - they see the pup, treat her and kiss her goodbye.I cannot quite easily explain it with words, but what comes to mind is - simple bliss. The staff is lovely, the vet is funny and straight to the point. there is no fluff to get your money, if you are looking for fluff and shiny websites or pretty buuldings this place is not for you. They love the pet for what the pet is - a living animal who needs care, and I love that.the first visit was the fastes visit to a vet ( or any doctor for tha tmatter) i ever experienced. in and out in under an hour with all vaccinations, exam, nail trimmed and blood drawn.“

“Brought my pup here yesterday for the first time and I will be using them exclusively for pet grooming from now on!I found them online and booked the appointment through the website for just a couple days out- such an easy process! Brought my 7 year old Cockapoo in for her haircut, teeth cleaning and nail grinding yesterday and what a great experience! Leah at the front desk was so friendly and made me feel like my girl was in really good hands. Only an hour and a half later, I received a text that they were just about done and I could head over to pick her up.She came running out to greet me looking BEAUTIFUL, clean and so so so happy! Josh did her service and he was an absolute delight to speak with and assured me that my baby girl was so good and easy to work with. Her haircut was done exactly the way we like, she looked and smelled so clean and my pup seemed so happy and comfortable- which is really the most important thing!I couldn’t happier with this place and my husband and I are so excited that we found them! Will be exclusively bringing both our dogs here for any grooming needs going forward! I’m sure everyone is wonderful but Josh was so fantastic that I’ll be making sure to book with him every time! :)“

“I took my cat here for a nail trim today and I was blown away by the kindness and quality of care we received. My cat Fin gets nervous when I put him in his carrier so I always put a liner in because he pee’s, When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and the woman at the desk was so friendly. I didn’t need an appointment since I was only getting Fin’s nails trimmed and they were able to help us right away. I felt terrible because Fin had soiled himself when he was in the carrier and the woman who trimmed his nails helped clean him up before she trimmed him and kept reassuring both him and I that it was totally fine. In the meantime, the woman at the desk took away the soiled pad and gave me a clean towel to put back in his carrier. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would because 5 doesn’t seem like enough. You can tell that everyone working here loves animals and they have created a safe space for them to be groomed. Thank you very much to the 2 wonderful ladies who helped us today! We will be back for sure and recommending them highly!“

“Today was my toy poodle puppy’s first grooming. The groomers were so genuinely happy to see her. They were gentle with her and did a beautiful wash and cut. She is a squirmy little girl, they handled her very professionally and she came home looking so cute. I am very pleased.“

“My neighbors bring their Goldendoodles here for a groom so I decided to try them out. Canine Cottage is located right by the Syosset train station so parking can be a hit or miss. I booked my appointment seven weeks in advance so I was able to get the day and time that I wanted. I dropped off at 11am and picked up around 12pm. They did a good job overall but next time I'll ask for them to go a little shorter by the eyes and to go one level shorter on the rest of the body. If you're looking for a groomer, who is responsive and values your time, then I would stop by Canine Cottage.“

“Have been a client since Nov 2019 and love the practice. Even with the pandemic and the increase of ownership of pets that came with the pandemic the practice has always been great. Dr Yohay is the primary vet for my two dogs but all the vets in the practice are great. For "emergency" and last minute appointments that are sick related they are almost always able to fit you in that day if you are an established patient. For regular check ups, it's best to schedule a couple days out. The office staff is amazing and compassionate. If you call and leave a message for a doctor they always call back, even after hours or late. They aren't just doctors, they are truly caring and like family. Highly recommend the practice“

“We have brought our Shiba here twice now (boarding for a week). Staff is great. Some are more knowledgeable about animals than others. But care and kindness is something that we have always seen (that is what matters most). They are also very professional. If there is a concern or request, they will assist you in a timely manner, and everything is noted. We had a few requests since our breed does not take well to other breeds, they were more than accommodating in giving him his own time away from the others, and allowing us to bring his own food (due to allergy) and bowls. One fixed issue we had the first time: our dog came back with kennel cough, we called them solely so they could inform the other pet owners...they surprised us with an email apologizing and asking for a copy of the vet bill(they paid for the whole thing!) Kennel cough is a normal thing (as per our vet), so don't get overly upset if this happens... we get colds on airplanes, yet we still fly! I do suggest bringing their own bowls (food and water) and making sure everything you bring is marked with their name.“

“No complaints here! He’s always punctual and patient with my 3 pups. I know my 3 little “ladies” are feisty and difficult to groom; my son takes hours with only one, but this guy gets the job done in 30-40 minutes each and is not fuzzy about their knotted hair! Yes, they have long curly hair! They’re shihtzus. After their grooming, they look good, smell good and look happy and playful, I don’t see any signs of trauma here, so I’m surprised with the poor reviews & Oscar has not groomed them for over a year because my son had been doing it during the Covid-19 pandemia. He’s not a rookie; he’s groomed dogs for long time!“
