Euthanasia is always emotional, but they made us all feel so cared for, and supported. Dr. Pietrzyk explained everything so thoroughly, and gave us as much time as we needed before and after. I had never been to this practice before, but their kindness and compassion didn't make it feel that way at all. “I have a 9 year old beardie that my boyfriend and I found in a park in a shoebox. We've been on the search for a knowledgable and affordable vet that wasn't half way across the world for him since. I was recommended to HEAL by one of the owners in a pet shop we frequent. I was super nervous and anxious before and during my first visit because this is the first time I was bringing a pet to a vet and I had a number of concerns about my beardie. Those feelings eventually went away because the staff at the office were calm, friendly, knowledgeable, and so so patient with me and my beardie. They answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. Every charge was explained to me and recommendations for further exams were made but I was not pressured into having them done. My beardie doesn't particularly like being handled by people he is unfamiliar with (he gets very jittery and will run off to hide). He was fidgety and did try to wiggle away from the tech when I placed him into her arms but he quickly calmed down though he did stare at me as he was carried into the exam room. He was calm when the tech brought him back out and I was told that he was calm during the exam. I was fairly surprised when he actually didn't want to let go of her when she handed him back to me. The staff at HEAL continued to check up on my beardie after the exam to make sure that he was ok. I appreciate the follow up. Given how patient the staff were with me and my beardie, HEAL is definitely my go to for pet health.“

We have spent the last year bringing our cat to various Edgewater animal hospitals.- Dr. Friedman our former 25 year veterinarian doctor is sadly no longer practicing in Edgewater.What I paid to have a Hazelnut size polyp removed from my cat’s Nasal/Throat passage cost far less than the multiple appointments that wrongly diagnosed our cat with an upper respiratory issue on four separate occasions.-Dr Jay Buchholz was able to immediately diagnosis and scheduled surgery for Harry at Maywood Veterinary Clinic.“
“Great care and wonderful staff! My dog is almost 7 y/o and has only been treated at BHVH since he was a puppy. BHVH has taken care of my dog’s common and not so common issues. My dog once swallowed a tennis ball whole. He also recently broke his toe. No matter the medical adventure with our dog, BHVH always provides fantastic costumer service and thorough medical care. They patiently explain procedures and medication. They also provide helpful recommendations re care. We moved neighborhoods and continue to choose a 40 minute Uber (each way), over bringing our dog to a different vet.“

“Very easy to make an appointment (and a next-day appointment nevertheless) for a regular wellness exam, barely a wait once there, and the vet and assistant were great with supporting my cat who isn’t a fan of leaving the house! They were thorough in his check-up, gave him his vaccine two months early to help reduce the unnecessary stress of bringing him so soon again, and provided helpful feedback for me to further his care.Will be taking my other cat next week!“

“At first I was not convinced by the place, however I have taken my two cats for different procedures and everything turned out perfect. I can perceive that the doctor has a lot of knowledge and loves animals. Maybe he is more practical and less picky than in other places but he does an excellent job at a very good price“
