“My two dogs (a rescued pitbull and a pit mix) usually see Dr. Wood or Dr. Williams and have always had positive experiences.)That’s why I was surprised and disappointed with a recent visit with Dr. Elizabeth Brown for my foster dog, Armani, a 1-year-old pitbull rescue. Armani is very sweet, though he can be excitable and nervous during exams. While Dr. Brown did examine him, I felt the interaction could have been more welcoming and supportive. She did not greet or introduce herself at the start, and her demeanor seemed uncomfortable with Armani’s energy. During the exam, when he was moving around, she audibly expressed frustration by saying “ugh, ugh” and even commented that her back would hurt if she had to keep trying, before sitting on the bench usually meant for clients. These kinds of remarks made the situation feel more stressful rather than calming. She also kept mentioning that Armani “needs a lot of work” and suggested that a certain treatment option might make him “more aggressive.” I have to note he showed zero aggression. And he’s gone a long way since I got him at the shelter, which I made sure to mention. When I asked if she meant “edgy” or “nervous,” not “aggressive” she quickly backtracked, but by then the tone of the visit felt discouraging and gave me the impression of an unfair bias against his breed. As a foster parent, I work hard to help Armani feel safe and cared for, and I hope that all veterinarians he sees can support that effort with patience and compassion. Small changes in communication, such as a warm greeting, clearer explanations, and more positive reinforcement, would go a long way in building trust with both pets and owners, especially with breeds that often face stigma. I share this feedback not to criticize, but in the hope it can be helpful. I know Piper Glen has wonderful staff (including Sienna who was very sweet and kind to Armani) and I want Armani (and other pets like him) to receive the same respectful, supportive care I’ve always experienced here with my other dogs.”

“This is the best place! I’ve been using this vet over 30 years when originally owned by Dr. Glenn! The quality of service has carried on through our many fur babies & we now see Dr. Wolfe, who is absolutely awesome. Yesterday, our Elvis needed emergency attention due to a small injury & we called, communicated with Dr. Slusky. I texted photos & she provided his meds & provided appt this am which saved us an ER appt. While I normally like to see Dr. Wolfe, Dr. Slusky was also awesome! However, the vet tech was so wonderful! Due to Elvis’ injury, he was unable to wear his collar or harness so I had to carry him in a crate. Ive had some health issues & she toted him back to the room. She also offered to tote him to my car & I offered to tip her. In a tip crazy world, she certainly deserved it. Everyone from the front desk to anyone I spoke to was kind & compassionate. One more thing, when I picked up the meds, I was telling them how fussy Elvis is about taking his meds. When I went to pick up Elvis’ meds, Abby told me to hide it in a small piece of cream cheese - this has been the best tip ever!! While my fur babies (we have 3)don’t like to go the dr, I know they are in great hands at ITAH! Thank you everyone! Highly recommend these guys!!”

“One of the best experiences I’ve had! I recently called fullwood to inquire about my dog & her red, swollen eye. We originally called our dogs normal vet & they couldn’t see us for 3 weeks but told us our dogs issues was extremely urgent. I submitted an online request for an appointment with Fullwood because my mom brings her cat here & has amazing things to say. Within 4 minutes of submitted my online request, I had someone from here calling me & getting me an appointment in the next 48 hrs! (I’m convinced it would have been sooner if we weren’t about to get a ton of snow!)<br>Upon arrival, they were very Accommodating of my dog being reactive to other pets & got is an exam room immediately to wait so we didn’t encounter other pets. They built trust with her immediately & were so gentle & kind. They made me feel comfortable asking all of my probably annoying & overbearing dog mom questions. I will no longer be taking my dogs to any other vet other than full wood, the 45 minute drive is so worth my dogs getting the best & quickest treatment!”

They have gone out of their way several times to ensure my dog (who has terrible allergies) gets the meds she needs to keep those allergies in check. They were kind and non-judgmental when I missed giving Pinky her heartworm meds, they just took it in stride without lecturing me. We got her back on track and that was that. Also, when my truck wouldn’t start last winter when it was in the teens and I had to reschedule literally 5 minutes before the appointment was to start-the staff was chill about it and didn’t make me feel terrible about wasting their time and missing the appointment.<br>It’s things like that that give me good vibes every time I drive past their doggie mailbox.”
