Took off 1 star for a couple hiccups
-I booked a regular eye exam, not a contact lens exam. This should’ve been a $40 copay. Instead it was $119. Yes the provider asked me a couple questions about glasses and contacts and was nice enough to give me some lens samples. When I checked out I was upcharged for a contact lens exam. I didn’t schedule a contact exam. I didn’t have questions about contacts. I didn’t get fitted for contacts. This is clearly a way to increase billing but it is now okay. Especially in 2026

—I received 6 texts and 5 phone calls about my vision insurance and the possibility that I would be charged out of pocket if I “didn’t call back right away to get this fixed”. Two of these occurred AFTER I called to provide my info. Front desk was nice to apologize (and I appreciate them doing so) but this feels like spam and harassment when it was fine to just present it at the time of the appointment (the way that every other medical office allows)

—at the end of the visit your paperwork is given to a sales associate at LensCrafters. I get it, this is how ya’ll make money and it’s part of what I expect when I come to LensCrafters. However, if the front desk hands my eye prescription directly to a sales associate that is a privacy violation. Also that sales associate is coming to the desk at the end of my appointment and doing everything they can to make it seem mandatory to work with them. This particular location is really flagrant. I have been here for myself and with two other relatives and it’s been the same pseudo mandatory escort each time. It’s easy for me to say “thanks but no thanks” but it feels a little predatory“

Always the best of care from vision testing and glasses, laser surgery to prevent closed angle glaucoma, and most recently cataract surgery. I could not be more pleased with the outcome of my cataract surgery. My vision has been restored to the point that glasses are optional and only needed to read the smallest of print. My night vision has been improved immensely with the removal of the cataracts and ability to drive without glasses. The staff are always professional and courteous. I highly recommend Dr. O'Neal and the Cary Eye Center“

“I have had the same plugs in my terar ducts for 25 years. Last spring; my left eye was really bothering me; tearing frequently.
Two other othmologistst's did nada.
Dr. Wrzosek suggested taking one out .
He did and i am FINE !“

She is very patient and thorough -- you feel like an actual person and not just a patient she is trying to rush through. I've had to go back several times to ensure that my prescription/contacts are the right fit (my eyes are picky), and Dr. Byrd and the staff are always welcoming and eager to help.“

“I broke my glasses on vacation last week and Bob and Gail worked me into their schedule today to basically build a pair of wire-rimmed glasses using parts they had on hand. I wouldn't say the work was cheap but considering they worked me in first thing on a Monday and were able to do this sort of work so quickly, I would say the price was very reasonable. The number of shops in Raleigh who could do this type of work at all is probably few. The number who could do it without having to send off for parts is fewer and I think there may only be one who would and could do a project like this right away for you. If you need expert work done outside of popping a new prescription in a generic frame call Bob and Gail!“

With the very Sad Person that had lost her vision and herself, or the Person that was evaluated by Dr.Samuels on Nov 12’25, and given Great Hope for seeing and regaining my Independence, once again??!! His expertise and Diagnostic Testing guided each step toward a plan of doing for me what no one else was willing to do.
He listened to my concern of not being able to conquer the wearing of Scleral lens, and actually designed a pair of Rigid Gas Permeable lens, after conferring with a Company that could make them with a new Technique and Materials. I now see 20/20 with them and cannot describe the Pure JOY that I am experiencing living Life again!

Designing those lens that accounted for the many varied areas of distortion , due to my Keratoconus was quite an accomplished feat that I so Admire, and for which I am So Grateful!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Samuels and his Staff, who worked tirelessly to accomplish for me what several other practices said was not feasible.
