“Motive Training is the BEST! After having shoulder surgery in 2019, I struggled with chronic shoulder pain for 4 years. As a very active person for most of my life, I had a difficult time figuring out how to work out and be active without pain. I was recommended by a coworker to check out Motive and since the start of my training in April 2023, it has truly changed my life. I have worked with Marie for the last 9 months and she is AMAZING. She is kind, knowledgeable, and always finds ways to challenge me to improve my fitness! I am now mostly pain free and am doing physical activity that I never thought I would be able to do again. The entire Motive staff is wonderful and I highly recommend Motive to anyone on their fitness journey!“

“Training with Austin was a really great experience! He is a leader and very good at listening and adapting to my level to make me feel comfortable and also encouraged. I actually hate exercising but he made it fun and I felt stronger and more confident in a short amount of time. I moved away but otherwise would have continued with him.“

His super effective training sessions are customized for your needs and he helps you keep good form through every rep. I would just be wandering around the gym overwhelmed (or skipping it) if I hadn't started these sessions and gained from his knowledge and support. “I had the pleasure of a 45 minute private lesson with Rebecca Russell who was simply outstanding. Rebecca blended the history of Pilates with clear and helpful instruction on how to best use the Pilates equipment for the biggest benefit. The hip and strength training to include core and upper body was most helpful. I can clearly understand the benefit of Pilates if used on a consistent basis. However, the one area it did not work for me was getting my heart rate up or sweating. These are two requirements I have when working out. That aside, Rebecca Russell was an excellent instructor and I would highly recommend her.“

I can say, without hesitation, thar the staff at GRIP is the most knowledgeable and dedicated training staff I have worked with over my 30+ years in working with private trainers. Mitch and his team take a comprehensive view to fitness, focusing not only on strength, cardio, and flexibility, but also on diet and mental health aspects of a healthy lifestyle. Each of the trainers is extremely professional and personal, and also very knowledgeable when it comes to proper technique and training methods. The facilities are also extremely well lit and clean, and the range of equipment rivals any other larger facility. Overall, GRIP is a fantastic resource in Grand Rapids, and I highly recommend their services.“

“Love this place! There have been many positive upgrades (2023). The locker rooms are beautiful, lots of fun classes and highly experienced trainers. The pool area is well managed and they have great swim instructors! Unlike some clubs, they do provide towels.“
