Like every great millennial mid-life crisis, this one starts at a weight lifting gym. Constantly bombarded by influencers telling me I need to start lifting weights before my bones crumble within me and my brain melts from perimenopause, I decided to step out of my comfort zone (Pilates, walking, white girl hip hop dancersize classes) and give lifting a try. All jokes aside, I can’t overstate how out of my depth this was for me and how nervous I was to try. I immediately felt safe, understood, supported and excited about working out for the first time in years. I started personal training with Jalen, a completely ripped angel sent from heaven, who helped me every step of the way and pushed me to do things I never thought I’d see myself do. Great gym! I’m an experienced weight lifter so I typically do not sign up for fitness classes because most classes don’t track weights and reps, classes, are usually full of junk volume, and I have enough experience to design my own workouts. But here, the coaches stick to tried and true fundamental lifts and track weights and reps.
This is a great gym for people of any fitness level, especially if you’re like me and don’t have the time to design and track workouts.
