55 Baxter Blvd, Portland“No wonder Back Cove has the highest rating on Yelp. If I could, I’d give more stars. The staff and vets are very friendly. I have autism so them smiling a lot helps me understand how they’re feeling. I’d like the waiting room to be more “homey” but I’m not deducting stars for that since I care more about the treatment.“

200 Lower Main St A-275, Freeport“We can't speak highly enough of this practice. Late yesterday afternoon our dog had a bad wound on his leg and the regular vet couldn't see him. I called the Urgent Care clinic at 5:05 and they were able to see him at 5:30. My husband took him, while I stayed home. The tech and doctor both called me to get more information and explain what was going on. They sedated our dog and cleaned his wound. They had thought they were going to have to do a scan and send out tissue for testing, but when they got a closer look decided that those items weren't necessary. We will take him back next week to have the wound rebandaged. It's too bad this is just an urgent care clinic, because we would take both our dogs there regularly if we could. They are compassionate and competent.“

2255 Congress St, Portland“We feel we are in good hands with PVESC.
Dr. Charbonneau spent plenty of time with us, going over his findings and discussing options for our dog's care.
Also, Becca has been so great to work with, and remembered us from our last dog who used to see another specialist.
She has always been very helpful from scheduling to the appointments. She is personable, knowledgeable, super helpful and overall terrific!
We also appreciate the discharge instructions which are incredibly helpful. Visits can be stressful, so a summary afterwards is priceless.“

8AM - 6PM
172 Gray Rd, Cumberland“I’ve been coming here for years, but most of all really enjoy Dr. Kate Ferrell. She has been a breath of fresh air since having bad experiences at other practices. Not only does she take the time to answer my questions, she goes above and beyond to make sure my dog is in the best of health. I have a highly reactive large dog that does not like the vet. Dr. Ferrell and her team make sure to make us as comfortable as possible and do their best to make sure Harlee knows she is not being threatened. I am not local to this vet and will only travel to this one. Thank you Dr. Ferrell for being you!“

51 Ocean St, South Portland“Having a senior dog puts us at the vet now often than we'd hope, but we're so lucky to have the staff at Cape to provide the best care possible for our sweet pup. We book with Dr. Dubois as often as possible, but all the doctors there are great. The vet techs and front office team are always very helpful with appointments and prescriptions, too.“

739 Warren Ave, Portland“The waits are pretty long and the fees are expensive, but they saved my kitty's life. After our regular vet misdiagnosed her, we brought my sweet middle-aged cat here where they brought her back to health. Now, just a few days after she was about to die, she's at home and playing with her toys. She wouldn't be alive without them. I will say, they need more vets. From what I've come to understand, they may only have one actual vet there at a time, and vets that do specific testing are only there on certain days, so it may take hours to days to truly find what's wrong with your animal. Still, they didn't push us into surgeries do have official diagnoses. When it was pretty clear what was going on, they just treat the animals for that instead of trying to pressure owners into the extra testing. The fees are crazy expensive. We couldn't really afford it, but having my precious angel home and on the road to health is worth it. So, if you can't get into your regular vets and are having an emergency, from my family's experience, your animal is in good hands.“
