5130 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington“Alex and team were true professionals who were very pleasant to work with, but they really went above and beyond in handling the funeral for my late grandfather when they were able to get the Air Force to provide burial services. It was unclear if the Air Force could attend as they were heavily booked and my grandfather was discharged many years ago -- but at the last minute they were somehow able to recruit the Air Force to attend, which provided our family with a great sense of pride and made for a special ceremony. We're deeply grateful that we had Alex and the Gawler's team to help us get through a difficult time, and highly recommend that anyone choose them if looking for a funeral home in the DC area.“

1722 North Capitol St NW, Washington“Highly recommend Ronald Taylor Funeral Home to provide services for your love ones. The representative shows compassion during the difficult time in addition to making it convenient for the family for making arrangements. I was impressed with their efforts and attention to details in making my love one’s appearance acceptable to the family. And preparing for the services, they did not try to push services that were not necessarily needed. Ronald Taylor funeral home reached out to the family a couple of days after services rendered to check on the family. That was very impressive.“
“They were incredibly kind, compassionate, and provided a space of healing and comfort in such a difficult time in my family. We are very grateful for their support and service.“

The still life was so beautiful and varied that we sketched several different sections of it during the session. We loved having the time to focus without distractions—other than the laughter from participants. We highly recommend continuing these sessions.“

As the family of Allen Holland, we can’t express enough gratitude for the level of care, empathy, and professionalism we received during such a difficult time. Gary, Keith, Dennis, and staff were incredibly supportive throughout the entire process, handling everything with the utmost respect and sensitivity.
Dennis and Keith did a remarkable job making Allen look serene and peaceful, which brought us great comfort. Their attention to detail in preparing him allowed us to focus on honoring his memory without any added worry. Gary’s warmth and sincerity made us feel like family, while Keith’s professionalism ensured that every detail was handled perfectly. Dennis’ empathy and kindness gave us the comfort we needed.
They truly went above and beyond to provide not only excellent service, but a genuine sense of care and understanding during this painful time. Thank you, Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, for honoring Allen’s memory with such dignity and respect. We will forever be grateful for your support.

1313 6th St NW, Washington“On behalf of the Caudle, Wilkerson, and McClelland families, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love, support, and exemplary service shown to us during our time of bereavement.
The Robinson Funeral Home embraced us with open arms, making our experience not only memorable but profoundly meaningful. The prayers and service provided were nothing short of exceptional, and they transformed a time of deep sorrow into one remembered with grace, love, and even joy.
We are especially grateful to Sister Precious Robinson for her compassion and swift intervention on the day of our beloved Vincent’s passing. Her efforts to promptly secure his remains and bring them to your facility, despite the delays and complications within the insurance system, were extraordinary. Because of her actions, we were spared the added pain of having Vincent’s remains transported out of the city, which would have only deepened our sorrow. That single act of love and trust brought us immense comfort, and we will always remember it with gratitude.
Additionally, we want to acknowledge the care and sensitivity shown in preparing Vincent’s body for viewing. Given his physical condition, having lost a significant amount of weight, we were uncertain about the possibility of an open casket. However, after thoughtful consideration and consultation with Precious and her team's work, we were at peace moving forward with the viewing. Sister Precious went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with the preparation. The extraordinary work done made it possible for family and friends to find peace, dignity, and closure during the service, an immeasurable gift to all who came to say goodbye.
Another moment that stood out to us was the opportunity you gave us to close Vincent’s coffin as a family. It was a moment that will remain with us forever, something we had never experienced before, yet it was so thoughtful, intimate, and deeply symbolic. That moment of participation brought us a sense of peace, release and connection that we will never forget. It was a quiet, sacred act that brought great comfort to our hearts and helped us truly begin the healing process.
All of your prayers, kindness, and thoughtfulness have been and will continue to be a deep source of comfort to our family in the days ahead. We are truly grateful. And to you, Ms. Precious: thank you. You truly live up to your name, which means “valuable, esteemed, special, and beloved”. While we understand that this is a business, it is an even greater blessing that you choose to serve with such heart, compassion, and care during some of the most difficult and challenging moments in people’s lives. Your presence in this work is a gift to every family you touch.
John F. Kennedy once said, “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.” The love and service that Robinson Funeral Home so faithfully lives by is a priceless reflection of God’s heart, something no words or wealth could ever truly repay.
Yet, in the spirit of gratitude and love, we offer this seed offering to Ms. Precious as a humble gift for her ministry of bereavement. May it serve as a small token of our appreciation for her selfless service and the heart with which she carries out her calling. It has been an honor to work with you in making Vincent’s celebration of life truly memorable in the most precious way (no pun intended!).
Thank you for your service as unto the Lord.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
From Our Hearts,
Walteara Caudle, Ashley Wilkerson and Sheila McClelland Families

2823 King St, Alexandria“This is an old but very pretty cemetery. The staff are extremely helpful and professional. It took a while but the staff were great at helping my family get grave markers put on our family graves. The staff went above and beyond to help us get what we needed. It is difficult because we live in Texas so we can't just drive over to visit or deal with cemetery staff. The staff have always done everything needed to make sure our family grave site looks its best and remains presentable. My only advice is to communicate openly with the cemetery staff so you get exactly what your are looking for (site, stone, foundation etc.) Thank you Ivy Hill for all you have done for my family and I!!“

Michael was very helpful and kept us updated on the proceedings. Since we had to transfer the ashes internationally, he was able to in record time and get the paperwork we needed to apostille the certificate to be able to make the transfer. A welcome relief for us that we fid not have to worry about documents during this sorrowful period.
I would recomend Northern Virginia Burial and Cremation Society anytime.
Thank you to Michael Turch and staff for making this difficult process as smooth as possible.“

I was planning ahead due to a need and had no idea what to expect. I was surprised and impressed with the professionalism, care and compassion of Bill and the staff in explaining and walking through the process of planning for a love ones final arrangements. He dispelled the mystery and fear and I better understood the importance of of this process. Fast forward to June 2025 and all of the proactive steps in preparing and planning my mom’s celebration of life made sense and made what could have been an extremely devastating time, one of positive reflection, love and celebration of a life full of love, service and compassion that yielded a service that honored my mom’s and my family’s wishes.
Peace and Blessings and Thank you

“I have been utilizing Strickland Funeral Services since 2007. They have provided services for both of my daughters, both of my grandmother's, my mother and recently my father. While it is the most horrible feeling losing a loved one, it is also the best feeling when you know that your loved ones will be well taking care of during the final stages of laying them to rest. I was able to do my family members hair and makeup which meant so much to me and my family. It has been almost 20 years of using Strickland and I have never had a complaint! That speaks volume about the business and the wonderful staff that makes everything happen. They are always so compassionate, respectful and most of all professional. Any of my family that I have the responsibility of laying to rest will only be done by Strickland Funeral Services. Thanks for all you have done and continue to do!“
