“Our real estate broker in Ipswich recommended O'Neil Fine Builders to us and we're glad she did. James (dad) and Paul (one of the sons) were a pleasure to deal with on our kitchen remodeling and new bathroom projects. They supplied a written offer including allowances for certain materials, hardware, etc , provided written change orders along the way, recommended kitchen and bathroom hardware, stone, etc suppliers, and brought along their electricians, plumbers, HVAC folks for the work. They delivered the kitchen remodeling and construction of a new bathroom on time and on budget, provided regular updates, photos and made themselves available for tours of the construction site when we visited. They also dealt with local permits, inspections, etc. Billing was also expected, one third upfront and the other two thirds upon delivery of certain milestones and completion. Their and their teams work was impeccable (tiling, paint, plumbing, etc) and they finished off by delivering a clean house at the end and removed all construction rubbish. They treated the remainder of our house with respect and delivered top notch work. My wife Robin and I can only wholeheartedly recommend O'Neil Fine Builders for any of your home projects.”

We had them rip out carpets throughout the house and refinish the floors, as well as paint every room, including ceilings and trim. The whole job was done quickly (2.5 weeks) to help meet our home sale schedule and the results were truly amazing. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work and the finished product. Throughout the process, Michael communicated clearly and in a timely fashion, with regular project updates. When a couple of surprises came to light (crumbling plaster behind some wall paper in a bathroom and a small section of missing hardwood under the carpet), Michael flagged the issues quickly and offered multiple options to troubleshoot while keeping the budget in check. “First off- Mike and Peter are two people that I feel are closer to your new best friends than actual contractors. They are two of the kindest and most genuine people I've ever met doing this sort of work. I unexpectedly had to gut two shower inserts in a multi-family building. Mike, Peter, Nick, and Pederson were here literally the next day at 7am ready to go, and continued to be every day until we were done. I was never left guessing on schedule, or timeline. Their work quality was excellent, and I even had them sort out a couple other odd-jobs I had on site while they were here. Communication was brilliant, and they were very realistic with me on everything they were encountering as they went through it. They communicate well with my plumber, and even held them accountable on a couple things on my behalf. I literally cannot recommend these guys enough.<br><br>Mike has also now referred me to my primary plumber and electrician which are also BRILLIANT. Great people find other great people I guess!<br><br>Stop looking around and call these guys for any sort of construction or HVAC needs you may have!<br><br>Honestly my only complaint is that Mike is so tall and handsome that It's really hard to be self-confident when you're around someone of such stature and grandeur. “Barrowclough came highly recommended, especially Paul Newman. I had seen his work at a couple homes. It was perfect. When it was time for us to do a major renovation, we invited them to give us a quote with other contractors. We ultimately chose them, although they were not the lowest quote. We chose to leave our home during construction to give them freedom to do their thing. Not only did Paul work quickly and efficiently, but during the job, he called frequently to keep me updated, and he came up with ideas to make the space more usable and modern. Rather than keep 2 old fashioned pantries, he had an idea to pull off the doors and order cabinet frames and doors and extend the kitchen into the hallway. He pulled out the insides and reengineered them to our custom specs. The result was that for minimal cost (hundreds of dollars) we got much more functionality and efficiency. We ended up adding to the kitchen and dining room job. What did we add? We removed popcorn ceiling, painted hallways and stairwell, painted master bath and bedroom, redid two upstairs bathrooms and more. We came home to a new house in April 2021 just as covid is (hopefully) winding down. What a gift Paul is. I'm happy to show the work that Paul and his crew did. He employs the best subcontractors and partners with them to ensure they are working together well. You can't go wrong with Paul and Barrowclough. Paul is a master carpenter. I would give it 5 stars, if I knew where to post that!”
