Rick and team got it all replaced in a day despite needing to replace pretty much the whole drainage stack. Great, professional, and efficient work! Very appropriately priced as well. “My water heater was 14 years old and was still working fine. But, i thought i'd get ahead of the curve and replace it before it decided to fail. My roto rooter tech, Jon, was recommended by my neighbor who had her water heater replaced a couple of years ago. He was able to come out the same day I called and give me a reasonable estimate. Then he was able to replace it the next day without any issues. Jon frequently asked if I had any questions and made sure I understood everything he was doing. “I called Stephens Plumbing and Heating after I was told by another company (that I have a service plan with for many years) that I needed a new HVAC unit ASAP. They quoted me around $15K, and when the tech left, he asked how soon I would be doing this. I told him it wasn't on the immediate horizon, and after showing pictures on how bad my furnace was, he said it should be. I called this group for a 2nd opinion, and the tech, David, said while I do need a new unit at some point, he eased my mind there were no safety concerns, like the tech from the other group said, and fixed a small part rather than replacing the whole unit. So $300 versus $15K? I'll call Stephens every time.“

“I have used Berwyn western for my furnace and plumbing needs for over two decades. The service has always been prompt and excellent. Eric cleaned my furnace and also looked at and addressed concerns. I had about my sump pump. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. “On Friday afternoon my water heater went out, and I started calling plumbers on Saturday morning with the goal of getting my nice warm water back by the end of the day. I was able to get three appointments set up with three different plumbers- one for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, but I was still determined to find someone who would come out that day. I was thrilled when Neighborhood Rooter Express said someone could be there within a few hours.

Sam (the Al Pacino look alike) arrived and saw to it that my wish for a prompt return of hot water was granted! Sam worked late into the evening to get us up and running, despite it being a Saturday. I am also thankful that he discovered an unrelated issue that needed attention. Unbeknownst to me the ejector pump had stopped working, and if Sam hadn't caught that, it could have caused water overflow/ flooding in our basement. He returned the very next morning (Sunday) to install a new ejector pump, and also to replace a pipe that might have turned into a problem. He performed a total of three jobs altogether, and gave me a very nice discount on the whole package since I was not expecting to need other repairs.

1/9/2026- I continue to add to this review! Heavy rains caused us to have sump pump issues. Carmen was out the next day. He was able to replace a dated sump pump and back up system. He had great recommendations and financing options for this large project. Carmen also added a digital control panel so that we do not have to open the pit and disturb our radon mitigation system.“
