Used Hammell Homes to reconstruct the wooden three step staircase to my back door.
1. Rick was very quick to respond to the inquiry I made on the website. Many other sites didn’t even bother responding, but I received Rick’s reply in under 24 hours.
2. He was able to quote the job very quickly as well, and provide a detailed written version of it for my review
3. He committed to a schedule to begin the work, kept the commitment and finished the job in less time than he said it would take.
4. The staircase is a huge improvement over the previous one and the job is perfect.
5. We got him to investigate remodeling our terrible bathroom, he provided an estimate per our specs and we are totally going to use Hammell Homes to remodel our bathroom. We’re just gathering the information we need for our fixture choices and we’ll be working out the details with Rick shortly

This is a great resource to have in Evanston. Everyone there is so professional and nice. I dropped off a new sport coat to have the sleeves taken in. He measured it with a long sleeve shirt I brought along. I paid a small cash deposit and picked it up a week later as promised. It was perfect. He only takes cash which I don't mind.

I love this salon for my natural styles and maintenance, as I like to try new things. The Lock Me Down Gel is THE PRODUCT! I have psoriasis and have tried many other gels, creams, sprays, etc to hold down my edges and braid my hair with but they all irritate my scalp. This gel is the only thing I have found that doesn’t. I’m a lifetime customer from now on!

I’ve been coming to this location for about six months now. By far the best haircuts I’ve gotten in years. I’ve also never felt as polished and confident as I have after getting my hair cut by Moe. Everyone here does great work, but Moe really knocks it out of the park - he’s super talented and has given me helpful advice about how to make impactful adjustments to both my hair and beard.

From the braid down, install, and styling she made sure I was happy with my service. I love the decor and the salon space is clean and bright. Nami was my nail artist and she was lovely and friendly. I got a pedicure and manicure with nail art. The pedicure was so relaxing. She did an amazing job matching my inspiration picture and making what I wanted become a reality. I will definitely be back in the future on another visit to Evanston.

Tia Nails is MY nail place. I love how spacious and clean it is. The staff are kind and professional. The atmosphere is just what I need. They even have a little play area for kids. They have a reward program as well which is nice. I never have to wait long and there’s free parking. They also give out free toe rings with your pedicure!

You know how our nails start chipping and falling off (dip) after a couple weeks and we can't wait for a new mani and pedi? I went back yesterday after having my nails done on May 26th and they all still looked good. I had a regular pedi and there were still no chips. I had a dip mani and I could have gone another week or two because the nails still looked great but started growing out. Put aside 2 hours if you're getting a dip mani, and foot/calf massage because these techs pay such close attention to every detail which I have never seen at any other salon. Unlike other salons that are loud and people are on their phones if you want a nice quiet relaxing atmosphere and a top notch job that lasts come to Dazzle nails.

She does really nice natural lashes. I went to her twice while I was living in Evanston and I really liked how my lashes turned out each time. They are great lashes for an everyday look and they lasted me quite a while. One thing I would say is she could work on her customer service. I remember her being pretty blunt - there was minimum conversation and she kinda just told me to lay down as soon as I walked into the private room. I think I asked which eyelash curl type would look best for my eye shape and she just said whatever I prefer which wasn’t helpful. and she wouldn’t warn me when she would wash out my eyelashes so I would get surprised and flinch every single time, although I did appreciate that she cleaned my eyelashes before the session started.
The only person I’ll ever trust with my face again lol. She always does my eyebrows so beautifully and I received a facial today as well. She always takes care of me and makes me feel relaxed!

This is a very small salon if you do not look close enough you will miss it. It is next to Tapas Barcelona on Chicago Ave in Evanston. Marian is the main stylist and she is wonderful and extremely accommodating with appointments as well as hair washing process. She has given me two fabulous haircuts that I absolutely loved and her styling fees are very reasonable. There is also free parking garage around the corner (you get one hour for free) ask Marian and she will direct you!

Eden Agora and the team is lovely but I'm disappointed with my Dazzle Dry manicure. Not many salons offer Dazzle Dry. It's fast drying and should be able to last 7-10 days--if you apply it correctly. There's a whole system, which I just learned Eden Agora may not be using correctly--which is likely why my DD mani (extra $) chipped after 2 days. :(

Rick, Steven and their team did an outstanding job diagnosing our problem and coming up with the best solution to our very difficult sewer nightmare. 60 + year house with disintegrating cast iron pipes everywhere. Team installed liners and managed to save the finished floors. Rick and Steve were real pros that know what they’re doing and excellent working with customers. I was very comfortable with this team knowing that they were honest and that they had my back. Thanks D.

Had two new toilets installed. Very fair price and easy to get a quote. Arrived on time and did great work. Owner is very fast to respond and plumber who did the work was very nice and professional. Very honest and no BS or trying to upsell. Will definitely be using them for the additional plumbing work I need done.
Laruo arrived early — which was great — and installed our new toilet in under an hour. The work was done professionally and in a very courteous manner. Lauro ensured that there were no leaks and that the toilet flushed correctly. TBH, the installation was somewhat on the pricer side, and more than I would have expected the installation of a comfort height toilet — total cost over $1600.00. In any case, the new toilet is in and I don’t have to sit on the freaking floor to use the head.
Flader Plumbing Heating has now done three jobs at our home:
1.) Supported our Kitchen Remodel
2.) Installed a dual-pump sump pump system
3.) Cleared the drains on our window wells (4 of the 5 were blocked with one actually filling with water and leaking into the basement)

Parker & sons saved me today! I had actually scheduled another service and was cancelled on late second. These guys were able to get me in same day. They were super professional and very friendly. I had a sectional and area rug to clean for the first time since having a baby who is now a toddler. The pandemic delayed any cleaning we could do so you can imagine how messy the living room rug and couch would be! They left everything looking like new. It is still drying, but I'm so excited for our brand new living room. I would definitely recommend and will use them again. They charge a fair price and do a wonderful job. Thank you!!

We could not be more delighted with the job Ronn, John and their colleagues did in remodeling our kitchen...which had not been updated since the house was built in 1939! They worked with us on a design that was both current and honored the home’s architecture. The quality of the workmanship on the maple cabinets literally brought tears to our eyes.
I used Hatcher Family Construction for several projects that I was doing on my home. Al Hatcher is a terrific guy to deal with. He is as honest as the day is long and all of his trades people are professionals who he has known for years. Even better, his prices were the best among the alternatives that I considered early in the game. I can't say enough good things about the people I worked with and about Al's responsiveness as some of my ideas changed in the process. He even answered a question I had when I called him on a Sunday about staining my deck myself. I'd use him again in a heartbeat and I highly recommend him.

I keep using Greenwise for both my landscaping and snow removal. They do a great job for both. Brian is quite responsive to any questions I have about my landscaping. He comes and checks out my landscaping when I want to talk about changes to it. The snow crews follow the instructions in my contract about where to place the shoveled snow. They also follow instructions about what areas to shovel. I am very satisfied with both services.

I've resisted the solicitations of the big lawn weed-control/fertilizer companies for years. Finally, I threw my hands up--the noxious intruders took over in our wooded area. A friend suggested that I call Steve at Logic for an appraisal. They use all organic treatments and the price is reasonable. They are a small local company committed not to outgrow their capabilities. I noticed an improvement before the second treatment (of 6 for the season). Everyone who visits raves about the lawn. I try to water it once in a while, a source of guilt given the water shortages in the country, but we have Lake Michigan, which connects to Huron to boot! I've since recommended several friends to Logic.
We needed a dead tree removed from the front of our home. They had a reasonable quote, arrived in a timely manner and even cleared away additional debris we had from trimming our bushes. I would definitely use them again.

He went above & beyond to take an impression, repair, & adjust and made him a new entire bottom piece with the original. Its like new & now he can eat!. Travis is a super talented chiropractor! His method is very scientific and integrated. There are muscle pain relieve + dry needles + chiro adjustment + teach me a few physical movements, which work just like miracle. I have seen quite a few chiropractors and PT in the past few years, but none of them are effective like Travis’s integrated treatment. My neck pain feels so much relieved after the first two sessions. The dry needling he provided is extremely precise and very effective.

I have several of my pets cared for by Evanston Animal Hospital and really like the place, which is near where I live. Dr. Henry, the owner, the other vets, the receptionists and the vet assistants are very competent and cordial.
Had a great experience with Bramer in the nineties when I brought my cats here, and was happy to find they are still going strong now that I have a new puppy. Everyone on staff is kind, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The vets and techs regularly sit right on the exam
room floor so that my dog can approach them easily and shower them with kisses. The exam rooms and office spaces are bright and clean but don’t smell like strong disinfectant. I always feel that I have plenty of time to ask questions and am treated with respect. Finally, my dog loves it here and can’t wait to get in the door and greet everyone. In the exam room, he’s relaxed and happy while waiting. That says it all!

I love this studio so much. They have excellent classes offered at multiple levels of ease and challenge. Their teachers are very knowledgeable/supportive and the owners are kind and welcoming. They also offer really interesting Sunday programming (Soul Care Sunday) for yoga and other wellness topics.

I came to see Meghan to help with some symptoms related to Menopause. She is very knowledgeable, warm and easy to talk to. Within a couple of appointments my hot flashes stopped. I’ve also found support for an autoimmune issue. I cannot recommend Meghan enough!
I had an incredible session with Jeff and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I came in with significant neck pain, and after just one session, I experienced tremendous relief. An added bonus was the improvement in my golfer’s elbow, which has been bothering me for over a year. It’s been four days since my treatment, and while some symptoms are slowly returning, they are much less severe—I’m confident that with continued sessions, I’ll be fully back to normal. Just had my first massage with Steve. I've been getting massages regularly for more than 35 years & this was one of the best ever. Steve is a master, with many techniques at his disposal so he can meet your individual needs. He is very professional, highly skilled, & also kind & friendly. He even asked if I liked the music, which he could change or silence if I preferred - no one has ever asked me that. A bonus is his "Swiss army knife" of a massage table with infinite adjustments. I had a lot of tightness in my back and legs due to my love for running, and was in desperate search of a professional who could adequately address this. I had previously been requesting deep tissue work at massage chains or spas, but I experienced either intense soreness afterwards that made my tightness worse, or I was charged more for what really was a swedish/relaxing massage (not a sport massage). I went to Scott and he was able to identify where the trouble spots were as if he could see them. He was extremely knowledgable and explained what he was addressing as he worked. Afterwards, I immediately felt the difference just when I walked, and I did not feel "beat up" as I have felt from past experiences when I have requested firmer work to address the tightness. Not only was he very knowledgeable and professional, but more reasonably priced than the services I had previously used, that didn't come close to his knowledge and professionalism. I was in town for a week and found Maya when searching for therapists around Evanston that can do MLD massage. She had an opening for me that worked with my limited schedule. I have gotten MLD massages before and I was very impressed with Maya’s approach and technique. I’ve never felt so relaxed after MLD before! Being pain free for the first time in five years has been an incredible experience that I do not take lightly. I have worked mostly with David, have had one session with Stephan and briefly interacted with Yu at my first appointment. All three are wonderfully concise with their treatment plans, and what to expect during the process. I have had terrible TMJ pain associated with tri-geminal neuralgia for years and have finally found the one thing that can help me get through the day and feeling like a normal human. Gentle and yet intense somehow in the best way, I highly recommend!

I came to Amie when I had an aggravated neck nerve that was causing arm and hand pain. I've had physical therapy for past problems (knee), but this time when my neurosurgeon prescribed PT, I researched PTs in Evanston. I settled on Skillz PT because it's a small shop and you get very personalized work, unlike big PT organizations where you're just one patient in one shop. Also, the reviews were great. Aime did a thorough review of my arm and neck capabilities and then went over with me what her recommendations were and why and also how we'd know I was making progress. (Like how much could I twist my neck.) She taught me a regimen of stretches and strength exercises, and sure enough, my pain became milder and much less frequent, to the point where it's gone. It's been months since I completed PT and I've kept up the exercises and unless I skip a few days of work, I don't even get a twinge. Much prefer this to waking up in the middle of the night with pain. So I can only agree with the other positive reviews I've seen of Aime and her tech Rachelle. The shop is always very clean, I see people disinfecting machines and equipment as soon as someone finishes using it, and there are just little nice touches like free bottles of water, coffee and tea, and even chocolates and health cookies. Aime keeps her eyes on you as you work and corrects mistakes, which I much appreciate. To people skeptical about physical therapy or who've had past bad experiences, I"d recommend going in for an evaluation while keeping an open mind and seeing what your gut says and I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
Sports and Ortho Evanston KNOWS THERE STUFF. I came here, feeling hopeless trying to find help for a tendon strain I felt in my knee during heavy squats or plyometric movements. Here I met Nidhi, who was extremely knowledgeable, never rushed me and actually worked with me during my rehabilitation. They’re all so friendly here and make the rehabilitation process a hopeful and upbeat one. If you’re an athlete and you need to get back to how you were. These are the people your looking for.
What a great therapist and operation. Emily Grimm is a thoughtful and excellent physical therapist and in addition to running a great facility, she spends nearly all of an hour appointment with me, and probes beyond just treating the symptoms. I had a day-of scheduling problem where they juggled me in at a different time with no difficulty. Really happy going to Rush PT Evanston for my treatment.
I had a very successful experience dealing with back pain at Doctors of Physical Therapy in Evanston. Taylor Rodriquez was my therapist. She used her very excellent listening and observational skills to understand my problem and then create a program to remedy it. Taylor was empathetic, focused and pleasant in all our appointments. The office is a fully functional, non-pretentious and welcoming environment.

I am a professional singer with severe asthma. My pulmonologist was able to get me out of danger but that did not get me back on stage. Melanie was able to clear my chest of the remaining fluid and help rebuild my strength. Her knowledge of herbs and the human body is absolutely first class. She got results much faster than I expected.
So I was looking for a good acupuncturist and was given Lisa Meyerson’s name. She has been wonderful and has tried a few techniques as I have told her what I have been going through. I have Parkinson’s Disease and I have had some bad falls. My fractured elbow being the worst. I haven’t been able to straighten it for some time now but a few things she has tried seems to have loosed it up a bit I really enjoy seeing her and am totally relaxed when I leave. I would recommend her!!

I recommend Dr. Kuan, whose help I sought for some extremely painful and inconvenient ailments whose symptoms had recurred more frequently until I began treatment with him.For three months, I had regular appointments and no incidents with the various organs that had been troubling me for almost two years.I was able to live pain-free and improve my nutritional uptake during these months, the time it took to get diagnosed and treated with surgery. I do attribute that to Dr. Kuan's care.In addition, on my most recent treatment, post-surgery, I was in a lot of pain and discomfort all day, but ended up very glad not to have canceled my appointment. I literally felt my battered organs relaxing and the pain melting away, from the beginning and all through the treatment that day. I walked out like a new man, having the most dramatic improvement I have ever felt at a doctor's office.I am confident that Dr. Kuan's methods were helpful for me living a better life at a very difficult time.

I had stopped in on two other driving schools before choosing ADDS. One felt like a wrong fit, mostly due to availability and the other (also in Evanston) had a front desk person who was condescending and gave what I knew was incorrect information.
As an elderly woman, new to Illinois and not having driven for over a year, this challenge was almost overwhelming.
From the minute I entered the office of ADDS, I felt comfortable. First contact was the very busy Kemyta, who was juggling phone, paperwork, walk-ins and still smiling. When she was free, she asked me a few questions, then showed me how to maneuver their website, which had practice tests and much other information. There was also a voice behind a partition - an instructor giving a lesson to a group of high school students. Kemyta and I discussed my tailored requirements including pickup and dropoff as well as instruction for written test, driving test and all the crazy paperwork associated with an out of state elderly person licensing situation. Kemyta assured me that the owner, Doug Whitmore, a retired state policeman, would lead me through the process.
When I met Doug, I asked him to be very straightforward with criticisms because I wanted to get this right. In turn, he gave encouragement, precise feedback, directions and kindly- phrased criticisms. After each session, I received a detailed summary from Doug’s wife Andrea, while Doug was off giving CDL lessons for truck drivers. Text messages and emails were answered in reasonable time. This group had so many dimensions but operates very compatibly.
I was apprehensive about taking the test and asked if I should have one more lesson, but Doug said he thought I could pass and gave specific issues on which to focus. He easily could have had another payment from me, but he took the high road (no pun intended).
I passed all the testing and got a license. Yay! This company is like family. They care about your success, know what they are doing, kind, moral and truly a pleasure to work with.
