“Due to a last minute logistical error, we took our furry babies to Venice Dog Boarding. It was our first time leaving our babies here so we were very apprehensive, but from the moment we met Jan, my wife felt so much better and our dogs were very relaxed. Our babies were well taken care of, Jan was very nice and took very good care of them. You can tell she loves dogs. We will definitely be leaving our furry babies in her care from now on.“

“My precious three year old dog suffered a herniated disc, her back legs became paralyzed, and she underwent spinal surgery. After the time I was able to take off work ran out, I was in a panic to find someone I trusted to care for her during the day. I spent hours researching, calling, and even driving to consult with potential caregivers. There was no one I trusted within commuting distance, I truly didn’t know what I was going to do. Lili and Michelle were flexible with my work schedule, patient with my baby’s anxious attachment, incredibly loving and attentive with their care, and just…… loverall earth angels. Lili even texted me the first day and let me know how my pup was settling in- it’s things like that which separate her from everyone else - she get it, she cares, and she does her job better than anyone. Words just can’t express what the confidence and comfort I felt when leaving my dog with her meant to me.

“Rigo was helpful getting me registered for my pup's registration and was great explaining what to expect for my pup's first play day. He pulled up the livestream so that I was able to watch as Sitka was introduced to the other pups and staff. As I watched the livestream I could see he was very comfortable meeting staff and other pups, and that was very reassuring. He was happy when I picked him up and that made me comfortable. I look forward to Sitka's next playdate!“

We rescued a 10 month old puppy this spring and added her to our family with two other dogs and a cat.

Within the first week we discovered our new member was extremely anxious (she escaped once and was gone for hours), was up through the night and not housebroken. This prompted us to connect with Dee where we collaborated on our goals together, and set our focus on reducing anxiety, potty and crate training, and teaching hand signals to keep our pup from bolting out the door.

Two months later, we are THRILLED to report that our puppy’s anxiety levels are down dramatically, she is 99% potty trained, fully crate trained and sleeping through the night and not a single attempt at an escape. An added bonus is seeing the benefit all of this has had on our other dogs and how quickly the puppy and cat were able to integrate.

We did our meetings with Dee over FaceTime, starting at 3 to 4 times a week, and naturally decreasing as Dee’s program was so effective. Dee is extremely knowledgeable, provides clear instruction, and has a way of explaining situations from a dog’s perspective that makes it easy to understand the interventions.

Scheduling time with her was easy. We greatly appreciated her being firm about following guidelines because it kept us on track. However, she is also understanding and flexible when we expressed needing adjustments based on our own lifestyle or goals for our family.

We have a calm and cohesive family and are beyond grateful for Dee who was integral in this process.“

“I can't believe I never wrote a review about my wonderful experience with Stacie! It has been about over a year and half since our last training session. I have a now 11 year old dog named Shin-Shin who we got as a puppy and was not trained properly. He was aggressive towards every living thing that wasn't a main family member but I knew he was a sweetie inside and wanted others to experience his kinder side. I took 8 training sessions and while he may not be perfect being as his old habits have stuck a bit, he's much more manegeable. My partner, who doesn't live with me, has admitted that he's like a different dog now. Before Shin-Shin made my partner nervous and always looked ready to attack but can now cuddle with him. It takes a lot of patience and observation to understand a dog and surely a lesson learned for any future pets I may have in the future. Stacie was so easy and friendly to work with utilizing positive and fun reinforcements only! She truly cares about the wellbeing of the relationship between the dog and human. Would go back to her in an instant if needed, highly recommend!!!“

“Ian and his crew love dogs! I wish I could say this is common in his field, but we had several bad experiences elsewhere before Sunset Barquis. We love our dog beyond a healthy amount, and relinquishing control over him is hard for us (yes, we’re helicopter parents).

Through picture and video updates throughout the day we can see our little guy having the time of his life, playing with the other dogs and the staff. They walk him regularly, feed him and offer a variety of other services.

They are extremely reasonable with their prices, and we would happily pay more to receive the same quality of care and attention. If you need a place for your fur baby to be safe while you’re busy with life, you can trust them to take care of yours like their own.“
