115 El Campo Dr, South San Francisco“We went to a few martial arts studios before landing at Evolve, and it really is a step above the others. Mark's kid's Muay Thai class is great, very fast and active, supportive and fun, and my kid always gets a good workout and leaves in a good mood. Very nice and friendly staff too, can't recommend this place more highly.“
“It's been one month since I've started training at Ralph Gracie Sunset Jiu jitsu on Noriega. In the past I've had some bad experiences with BJJ gyms. Either the instructors didn't pay attention or the other students had an attitude that if you are a white belt you weren't worth the trouble. This place is not one of those. The instructors are excellent! They pay attention and ensure all the students from white belt to purple belt have the instruction they need. They have classes through out the day from 6 am to 7 pm so there is no excuse not to go. I have been taking the 6 am class with Renan Silva, the head instructor, It is amazing how much patience he has. The classes are fun, even for a 59 year old white belt like me. Every one who trains there has been great. All the students are also teachers and willing to share the little tricks they've learned. I look forward to going to the class and I'm sure I'll be training here for years to come!“
“My 10 YR old Son has been attending Karate at One Martial Arts at their Millbrae location now for 3 years. The Teachers and All the Staff are phenomenal!! My Son loves Karate and he Excels here, and in school and I know One Martial Arts is to be praised for their Strength in promoting Strong Values, Lessons for Life, and Giving Lots of Fun to All who Attend. Thank You One Martial Arts, Karen“
“Earlier this year, I was healed of a circadian rhythm disorder by a naturopath. I could tell that my kidneys were involved , so I decided to fine tune my kidney health via acupuncture (kidneys control sleep in TCM), and that's when I began working with the aptly-named Charity. It was a great decision. She taught me to drink way more than I thought was necessary, to do moxa on myself, and to drink nettle leaf infusions from time to time to tonify my kidneys. A few years ago, a psychic told me that someone who owes me money will pay me back, and when they do, I was to spend it on "pleasure." So, when my former boss paid me some back wages, I had Charity do a 12-session facial rejuvenation package on me, as well. The effect of this treatment-- like ironing out the dents-- is subtle and takes time; I think it may be working even after the sessions are completed. A couple of weeks after the last session, I met a man, who happens to be half my age, and we are now in a relationship. Thank you, Charity! It's always lovely to have a great, caring healer to help you feel your best physically and emotionally. Besides all that, I felt like Charity became my friend. We laughed a lot! She was generous with her knowledge and time when possible (Wednesdays) and I learned a lot from her. Ladies, listen to Charity's videos on her webpage. If you feel like you resonate with her thought process, you owe it to yourselves to experience Charity helping you to be your best.“

811 S B St, San Mateo“If you want it all in a dojo, this is the place. The instruction is world-class and second to none. I'm constantly amazed at the depth and practicality of Brasse-sensei's Aikido. But beyond even that, this is a place of support and community- I think of these people as my family. I came here looking for quality instruction, which I've received in abundance. What I wasn't expecting, but was pleasantly surprised, was how much this experience has changed me, my entire outlook on life and myself.“

2455 Taraval St, San Francisco“SF Judo Institute is a stellar place to learn Judo & Jiu Jitsu. Our 7 year old son has been taking classes there for about 6 months, and we are super impressed with the skill level of the instructors, the structure of the classes, and the overall vibe. It is very community oriented and fun. We checked out 2 other martial arts places near us and this one was by far the best across the board- price, quality and location. Highly recommend it!“
“This is a duplicate review. Unsure what happened. My 5 yr old son takes private Taekwondo classes with Master D. He's been going for a few months now, and we've seen such a great improvement. My son is high energy and would prefer to throw himself up against the wall and roll around, but Master D is super patient with him. That and a combo of his kind but firm approach has helped my son truly love Taekwondo, and he enjoys seeing Master D every week. Master D. truly is the "kid whisperer." Cannot recommend enough!“

65 Washington St, Daly City“The Mats is a cozy little yoga studio that has become my escape for self-care. The studio space itself is a little small but I love how intimate the classes are! They provide quality yoga mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters so you can focus on your flow if you're new and don't have equipment.I've been attending classes here for a few months now and have found an instructor for every mood. Stephenie's evening classes are perfect when I want a slow, meditative flow. She gently guides us through poses and holds each one long enough for my body to fully sink in. I always leave her class feeling loose and limber.Joann's morning Hatha class is great for de-stressing. The sequences are simple but rejuvenating. We move through meditations and breathing exercises at a leisurely pace. When I want more of a challenge, I go to Josh or Tiffany's Vinyasa classes. They seamlessly flow us through faster-paced flows focused on breath and building up to more advanced arm balances or backbends. Both are so encouraging and help modify poses for all skill levels. I come out of their classes energized and empowered.Overall it's a gem for anyone looking to establish or deepen their yoga practice. I feel lucky to have discovered this oasis in my neighborhood!“

141 11th St, San Francisco“I've been training here for years. I love the art but more than that I love Jimmy our Sensei. I've made wonderful friends through the years and feel like Norm from Cheers when I come in and everyone knows my name. The place is welcoming, overly clean and it's a great art you can do for the rest of your life.“
“My whole family has been going to Bay Area Martial Arts Academy for several years now and I have to say they are wonderful. So this review is definitely long overdue. Both my daughters have gained so much strength and discipline from the instructor (Mr Agoff). I love the life lessons he instills in them as well. The kids learn self defense, how to fall properly, stick work, different fighting forms, and the importance of training and hard work. They also work on strength and stamina and the belts are earned and not just given. Definitely lucky that we have this local gem so close to home. Also nice that my husband goes there too so the three of them can train together.“

2515 S El Camino Real, San Mateo“Over the last few months, my two daughters have been coming to this place on nearly every weekday. During their sessions, I usually hang out in the waiting area, observing how the students are not just mastering Taekwondo, but also developing a range of other valuable abilities and positive mindsets. It's clear that Master Park is an exceptional instructor. I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone, regardless of age or skill level.“

I was apart of the dogo before moving away and when I came back they same senseis and some new ones started back up right where i left off. I would highly recommend this karate dogo to anyone interested in getting exercise, learning self defense and just have a great workout.“
“I've been coming here for Muay Thai since 2020. The facilities are clean, the instructors are excellent and really care about the students, and it's a wonderful community. I highly recommend checking out this gym, and they also have fundamental classes for beginners. Great place to go whether you just want a great workout or go deeper in learning about martial arts.“

635 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno“Results are born where people who genuinely love what they do come I graduated from a sports university, and the funniest thing is that I didn't like martial arts (okay, okay, I did kickboxing for a month and a half because I needed the extra exercise after I stopped doing track-and-field professionally).I came here as an Au Pair (babysitter) and the kids from my host family started going to judo practices at Cahill's Judo Academy. At first I wasn't particularly interested in judo, but a week ago I caught myself wanting to join a class. By now, I've been attending Cahill's Judo Academy for almost six months (thanks to the children of my host family, who love the place), and I can tell that it's worth it to be a part of this community.I love seeing the professionalism of the coaches, their friendliness and attentive approach to everyone (for example, Coach Joe always tries to remember everyone by name, and I'm not just talking about the kids). In addition, I feel the energy of the place and can describe it as "results are born where people come who genuinely love what they do."P.S. Two weeks ago I was even lucky enough to get out on the mat. Coach Ben asked some parents to try an exercise the kids were doing - jumping over the speed ladder. I think I did it with success (at least I could tell by the cheers of the children and Coach Willie's thumbs up that it turned out pretty good). And I apologize in advance if I have misspelled some names.“

548 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno“I want to thank Mr. Johnson and everyone at Dojo USA San Bruno. We started training just before Covid hit and we went into distant learning with online classes. We started in person classes last year and I see a huge difference in Aarav’s focus. We were struggling in the beginning with the curriculum and now I see a huge difference in Aarav’s training. Aarav joined the Black Belt this year as well. He performed Bo Kata 2 at his end of school year talent show as well. I was super excited to see him perform in front of his classmates.I will highly recommend Dojo USA.“
“Great place to learn traditional TaeKwonDo as well as self defense. Very kids friendly. Very skillful instructors.“

621 S Van Ness Ave, San Francisco“I highly recommend Halberstadt Fencers' Club for its exceptional training and the wonderful community. Julien Ouedraogo is an outstanding coach whose expertise has greatly improved my skills. The club's warm, welcoming atmosphere fosters genuine friendships among members. It's a great place for both learning and connecting. Also I completed a fencing lessons with Rafael Musni and man, he's awesome! Super hands-on and passionate about teaching. He makes you feel like you're there to win, not just learn. Great for beginners or anyone looking to up their game. Highly recommend him! ??Thank you, Julien and Rafael, for the fantastic experience!“

“I have been a member here for some time and finally had to write a review because I have learned sooooo much here. The trainers here are extremely good at what they do. They walk you through the beginning process when you finally attend your first class. Whether it's jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, strength and conditioning, or boxing. You will have total attention from Augusto the first time you begin your first class. There is absolutely no judgment or being made fun of here, just very welcoming people. If you're looking to better yourself in life, this is the place to do it“

851 Hinckley Rd, Burlingame“Master Dong is a highly trained martial artist and kind hearted leader. Burlingame Martial Arts is an excellent place for 1) confidence building in kids and 2) confidence building in parents knowing your kids can defend themselves. The community should be grateful for this martial arts studio and the learning opportunity it offers.“

“My family and I were biking in the area and saw this place under construction. We were just looking inside and was greeted by Master Rick. He told us that this place will be a Taekwondo place. I was super excited to hear that this was opening in the area. Grand opening day was August 26, 2019. This place is spacious, high ceiling, very comfortable and clean. I do not feel like I’m cramped. My daughter and son was super excited and waited patiently for this place to open. The first day of class, my kids fell in love with Taekwondo and also felt comfortable with Master Rick teaching. My kids takes a very long time to open up with anyone, but with Master Rick, instant connection, very easy to talk to, very knowledgeable on Taekwondo, professional. Kids were having fun.My kids been training with Master Rick since the day he first opened up at this location, so it’s been 1 year and a half. Love this place and all the students in the Dojang. If you want to learn Taekwondo, this is the place to go to.“
