We work hard and we feel it, I was out of shape after having kids a complacency, started at 230lbs, working with Kenny and learning about my nutrition brought me down to 190 at a good healthy weight and fit. If you want to work hard and get hard this is the place!“

Red Morton Community Center, 1120 Roosevelt Ave, Redwood City“Trained here for ~1 month when I was staying in the area. The class is fun, engaging, and quite intense (in a good way!). The coaches are very good at explaining what to do and I was able to learn a wide variety of useful exercises during my short training there. I really enjoyed my time here exercising, sweating, and learning more about kickboxing.“

851 Hinckley Rd, Burlingame“The owner/ head instructor is a true master of the art. He leads by example, showing high levels of skill and attention to detail, along with safety and understanding. The school is geared for all ages. I'm proud to be part of the team here. The students train to be amazing!“
“My whole family has been going to Bay Area Martial Arts Academy for several years now and I have to say they are wonderful. So this review is definitely long overdue. Both my daughters have gained so much strength and discipline from the instructor (Mr Agoff). I love the life lessons he instills in them as well. The kids learn self defense, how to fall properly, stick work, different fighting forms, and the importance of training and hard work. They also work on strength and stamina and the belts are earned and not just given. Definitely lucky that we have this local gem so close to home. Also nice that my husband goes there too so the three of them can train together.“

16 42nd Ave, San Mateo“Over the last few months, my two daughters have been coming to this place on nearly every weekday. During their sessions, I usually hang out in the waiting area, observing how the students are not just mastering Taekwondo, but also developing a range of other valuable abilities and positive mindsets. It's clear that Master Park is an exceptional instructor. I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone, regardless of age or skill level.“

“I grew up training here. Not only did I learn self defense but I also built my self confidence and spatial awareness. Grandmaster Paik has always made me feel like family even after 25 years. Now as an adult with my own child, I hope to bring her to learn the same skills and values that were taught to me!“

2699 Spring St, Redwood City“Love Coach McCreadie, he is extremely hands on and creates a fun learning environment for the kids, teens and adults. He also brings Bay Area culture into a traditional style, blending Eastern and Western philosophies. This dojo also ties into Adrenaline Worldwide, a group that works with Hollywood studios to include choreographed martial arts and stunts. The dojo is clean spacious and welcoming. One thing is that the name has changed to Afro Bushido Academy just in case you are looking for more information.“

409 El Camino Real, Menlo Park“I've been training here for 6 years and I still look forward to each class. Ive done martial arts my whole life (Karate, Boxing, BJJ) and none of them are like Urban Combat. This place is focused on real life and how those arts come together with actual common sense for dealing with potential situations. The classes include fun workouts, lessons in various martial arts / weapons, and film study on real situations. Brian is an amazing teacher - hes not lecturing from the sidelines, he is right there with you showing you how its done.
If you are interested in learning actual self defense strategies separate from traditional martial arts - this is your place. Its a bay area hidden gem!
Note - this place is in the Karate studio (parking in the back).“
