647 El Camino Real, South San Francisco“Our experience with Evolve Training Center has been nothing short of amazing. Since my daughter started training, I've seen such a positive change in her confidence, discipline, and self-esteem. Coach Mark has created a welcoming, supportive environment where she feels encouraged to learn and grow every step of the way.
Not only is she learning valuable self-defense skills, but she's also developing confidence that carries over into her everyday life. Knowing she has the ability to protect herself while building respect, resilience, and determination gives me incredible peace of mind.
The entire team genuinely cares about their students and treats everyone like family. I highly recommend Evolve Training Center to any parent looking for a place where their child can build confidence, learn practical self-defense, and be part of a positive community. Thank you, Evolve, for making such a meaningful impact on my daughter's life!“

635 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno“I dropped in for two classes on a trip to SF and had a great time! I’m an adult green belt visiting from Boston. The senseis are very attentive and the students very welcoming. You’ll find great technical instruction and tough randori rounds here.
From what I saw of the kids classes, there were a lot of students and the senseis worked well with the kids.
I wish I had more time in SF to train here and will definitely try to visit again.“

548 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno“I restarted training with Dojo USA just a year ago after a very long hiatus, and I have loved every minute of it. It has given me renewed energy, improved my fitness, and reignited my passion for Tae Bo and boxing, both of which are rooted in the principles and discipline of martial arts.
Our Senseis—Peter, Erma,June and Nanette have been incredible coaches. They push us hard, but always in a positive, encouraging, and motivating way. Their dedication inspires each of us to keep improving and become the best version of ourselves.
The camaraderie among everyone at the dojo is truly special. We support, encourage, and challenge one another every step of the way. Yes, we are athletes in every sense of the word, and training together has given me a tremendous advantage in my journey at the dojo.
I am grateful to be part of the Dojo USA family. It has become more than just a place to train—it is a community that motivates me to grow stronger, both physically and mentally. 💪❤“

I don't feel pushed beyond my skill level, or belittled for my lack, but ever growing knowledge of the sport. I was a little hesitant about starting fencing again, and I'm glad that I chose this place to do so.“

141 11th St, San Francisco“I'd just like to give a totally glowing review to Friedman Sensei and the 11th street Dojo, it's an amazing and inspiring place! Friedman Sensei is an incredible teacher and a breadth of fresh air to experience as a student. His wit and sense of humor on the mat make everyone feel welcome, and his teaching style is clear, concise, and exemplifies a mastery of craft that only comes from a lifetime of devotion to Aikido and the martial arts in general.
It's rare to find classes as informed and inspiring as Friedman Sensei's, because his Aikido teaching encompasses a great respect for traditional Aikido practices, yet he allows the teaching process to be informed by other martial arts, and thus in my opinion strengthening the students' abilities who have no grounding in other forms.
Also, the other instructors at the dojo are top notch and inspirational teachers as well, the guest seminar folks who come through are amazing, and maybe most importantly the black belt community at 11th Street Dojo is incredible, great people, very accomplished folks who are always sharing their knowledge with the newer students.
I have only had the chance to be a guest at the dojo, due to my unique work situation that requires travel and specialized work with my hands, so my opportunities to train are limited. But I studied Aikido around the US for 12 years from 1990 to 2002, had to stop due to injury, and am trying to come back to Aikido. Thank you Friedman Sensei for the inspiration in trying to get back in the dojo and on the mat!!“

603 Taraval St, San Francisco“I've been coming here for about a year and a half (as of now) training in Muay Thai under coach Carlo and Coach Rocky. Both are solid coaches, that are very good at helping people get comfortable and acclimated with getting into combat sports with safety and care! Highly recommend!“
“I grew up training here. Not only did I learn self defense but I also built my self confidence and spatial awareness. Grandmaster Paik has always made me feel like family even after 25 years. Now as an adult with my own child, I hope to bring her to learn the same skills and values that were taught to me!“

387 Ashton Ave, San Francisco“I was a student at St. Clair’s Tae Kwon Do back in 2000 at the Taraval location. In 2022, I reconnected with Grandmaster St. Clair when I enrolled my son in the Little Tigers class at the current school.
Since then, it’s been a great experience watching my son move up in rank and grow more confident. I’m very proud of his progress. His journey inspired me to return to training myself. Picking up where I left off 25 years ago.
Over time, I’ve seen many of Grandmaster St. Clair’s students grow. Building confidence, learning discipline, and working well with others. It’s clear that this school helps develop not just martial arts skills, but strong character and teamwork as well
If you’re looking for a Tae Kwon Do school that teaches respect, focus, teamwork, and self-discipline in a positive and encouraging environment, St. Clair’s Tae Kwon Do is the place. It’s a great school for both kids and adults.“

2990 Geneva Avenue, Daly City“Best MMA gym in the Bay Area without question. Walked into the school with hardly any training and told Zhong I wanted to compete some day. 8+ years at Dragon House and now I'm a pro MMA fighter. I have met so many people at DH that are my family now because that's the type of community Zhong fosters here. He expects us to look out for one another like family and treat the gym like it's their own home. Clean, respected, and orderly.
A place that provides something for anyone. Whether you wanna be a fighter, learn self defense, or learn a new skill for your own peace of mind, this is the best martial arts school you could come to. Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu (gi and no gi), MMA sparring, Kickboxing, and Kung Fu. All under one roof, run by a dedicated coach and a variety of training partners who come every night to better themselves and help and encourage each person to reach their goals as well.
I feel fortunate training here and look forward to representing this school for many more years.“

“The Mats is a wonderful studio with the kindest instructors. It’s a non-intimidating space with a welcoming community of yoga students and flexible management. Even though I’ve done yoga before in my life, since joining The Mats I’ve seen myself progress and have fallen in love with the practice. Thank you!“
