SF Judo Institute is a stellar place to learn Judo & Jiu Jitsu. Our 7 year old son has been taking classes there for about 6 months, and we are super impressed with the skill level of the instructors, the structure of the classes, and the overall vibe. It is very community oriented and fun. We checked out 2 other martial arts places near us and this one was by far the best across the board- price, quality and location. Highly recommend it!

It's pretty much the only game in town if you want to learn judo, but thankfully there are several excellent teachers. The classes typically have anywhere from 2-6 black belt instructors, and usually end up with 10-20 people in total in the class.Before the pandemic when it was 3x/week, there was generally more direct instruction (perhaps an hour) with 30 minutes of randori (sparring with a live, resisting opponent), but in the temporary location it's become much more randori heavy (1+ hour straight) since classes primarily consisted of long-standing members.
