“We hired Optimum Seismic in 2020 to evaluate our 2 story apartment building in Pasadena in regard to Pasadena’s new Seismic Retrofit Ordinance requiring that such structures be reinforced. They performed this evaluation with the understanding of the requirements and with our hope that we could exempt the building due to previous work done in the early 90s. We expected the city would still require the work, but Optimum was quick and professional, accumulated all information necessary, and proved after a plan check review that the 90's work met city requirements. We appreciated that they were very easy to communicate with as the process evolved. Ultimately, they showed that no work was necessary to bring the building up to code (Ordinance No. 7345) and provided us with a report to that effect. I highly recommend Optimum Seismic for any such evaluations.“

“The upstairs shower in our condo blew an interior wall washer in the middle of the night (Saturday on a holiday weekend, of course) and I ended up having to shut down the water main and water heater in my PJs to keep from destroying the house. First thing Sunday morning I called F&M and spoke w their on-call service who then called Mike. I figured I was going to have to have the tile walls torn into and a major repair nightmare was imminent. F&M technician Santiago called me right back and was at my house within 30 minutes. After a very brief evaluation not only did Santiago assure me the fix was was relatively minor one, he had all the parts needed for the repair on his truck. From the time he came to the door until I was writing a check was 45 minutes, tops. I am extremely happy with the level of professionalism and service this company provided and will recommend them to anyone in the Pasadena SGV area. Oustanding in every way!“

“I needed a bunch of new wooden windows painted (interior and exterior) and needed someone licensed and bonded, since half the windows were on the 2nd story. I'd had some bad experiences with other companies flaking on estimates or just not getting back to me at all. Luis reached out the same day I sent him a message, and came out the next day for an estimate. He was prompt, friendly, and paid close attention to detail, pointing out things the other 2 guys I'd met with skipped over. He explained the process including prep, what paint to use, and how long it would take. I knew he would do an excellent job and felt very confident going with him. His price was competitive, he worked with my schedule (and around all my pets, which can be challenging), and his team did a fantastic job. His crew was always early, considerate, meticulous about protecting furniture and floors, and cleaned up at the end of each day. I'm thrilled with how the work turned out and highly, highly recommend LR Painting. We'll definitely use them again.“

“I contacted Liu Landscape after running into some difficulty with my sideyard and backyard renovation. Crystal quickly scheduled a site visit, and I could tell right away she was very knowledgeable about planning and permitting for my city. This was of utmost importance to me since I had to fire my prior contractor for reneging on promised permits. I requested a 3D design (hardscaping, outdoor kitchen, turf, outdoor tile) and was able to find a lot of inspiration from the company's own website. Crystal delivered the initial design and requested revisions within a couple of days. I really loved the modern design, and we requested a quote for construction as well. Ultimately, I did not pursue construction with Liu Landscape, but this was mostly due to personal budgetary constraints. Her quote was actually very competitive (compared to 5+ other bids). Over several months, Crystal remained willing to correspond with and help me with my project. She even provided a 2D layout upon request. Regarding her communication style, Crystal is quite matter-of-fact over text and e-mails and warm during in-person meetings. It was a very difficult decision to not work with Liu Landscape, because I really loved the design and plan. As mentioned above, I cannot comment specifically on construction, but had positive experiences with communication and design/planning services.“

“We were referred to John Petti at Accurate Builders & Repair by our realtor when we bought our house 4 years ago. We were finally ready to embark on a kitchen renovation Fall 2019 and he was one of the contractors we sought out for a bid. After meeting with him and getting his estimate, we decided that he was the best fit for our needs. His price was fair and we liked his personality. We picked correctly! John and his crew did an amazing job. In addition to a major kitchen renovation, we refinished our floors in the entire house, repainted the interior of the house, and replaced/added/rewired all the lighting in the house. John also re-piped our home and repaired our leaky roof! We had so many projects going on at the same time and he was able to manage and time all of them professionally and successfully. John was always very communicative and easily accessible by phone/text/email. His crew has fantastic work ethic...they were always at the house when they said they would be and I always felt comfortable around them. They were very respectful and kind and also patient with my kids! John has great attention to detail and he also offers some creativity and came up with some awesome ideas/solutions for our space. What I liked about John was he never pressured us or tried to up-sell us on anything. He was super easy to talk to and he handled any hiccups in a very professional manner. “I reached out to Ogi on Nextdoor to find and fix leaks in our roof. Ugo’s inspection was thorough, professional, and honest. Instead of trying to sell me a new roof, he discovered that the leaks were due to other parts of the roof (exposed exterior beams, chimney flashing in disrepair). He explained everything fully, gave me a detailed estimate and scope of work, and delivered in a timely and efficient manner. Based on the heavy rains we had a few days later, everything was completed to a “T”! I would absolutely recommend Ogi and his team for roof work, and I look forward to seeing what other things he could take care of in my home.“
