“Pearl did an amazing job on my patio deck. We used to have an old and cracked concrete pad for the floors and a rotting wood cover on top of it. We were looking to make it a bit more contemporary. With Pearl's help we designed a modern structure covered with stucco and some wood work on top of it for some contrast. This required an actual plan submitted to the city believe it or not but I guess they have to do for the building permit process. It took some time but eventually we got approved. We went with an Ipe deck for the floors, no stain was added, just a clear coat for protection. The result is amazing! They have exceeded our expectation. From the very beginning they were on time, kept us informed on the permit process and everything. As in every project I'm sure we have minor delays but I rather wait and get better results than finish fast and then feel sorry for not perfecting the project or making mistakes“

“If you're reading this, I assume you're trying to decide if you should do your project with MDM, and I want my experience to give you the peace of mind you're seeking.Rather than give you a big write up on the specifics of my ADU project's design, I'm just gonna dump a ton of pics on you. They speak for themselves. But instead, I want the focus of this review to be about the areas in which I think MDM excelled.Communication - Here's what MDM doesn't do. They don't avoid you. Mike (the owner) doesn't double speak. He doesn't undersell the cost of things or hide costs that will arise outside the scope of his contracted services. If you ask him how much something will cost, he tells you flatly. In addition to this, he's organized. We communicated almost entirely over whatsapp, and for the majority of the project, I wasn't even on the property, but I found the whatapp dedicated chat was super useful, because the search functions are excellent, and you can export the whole chat which is a great way to keep track of invoices, payment receipts, etc.Project Management - Being offsite, I was greatly reliant on Mike to not only keep me involved, but also to provide daily pictures, and occasionally to coordinate with my main house's tenants needs.. In addition to all of this, Mike offered guidance in areas I knew nothing about (i.e. how to deal with the utilities companies, where to find good cabinets at reasonable cost, and design ideas to maximize my space) In one of the pics, you'll see Mike installed an attic ladder to allow me to use the lofted area for some storage (since a 500sqt ADU obviously needs to maximize that).Reliability with scheduling - MDM doesn't doesn't drag out projects. As soon as the permits cleared, within a week we broke ground, and within a month, the entire garage has been trenched, demo'd and framed out both inside and out. MDM showed up 5-6 days a week without fail. We have a couple things to wrap up, which are being delayed by the utility companies, but I've never felt like he was putting me second to anyone.Ethical - This goes without saying, but a good bid means nothing, if you have an unscrupulous contract. I expected Mike to honor his word. I didn't want to be gouged. And that might be the most refreshing thing of this whole process. You might be able to find someone who quotes you lower, but at least in my own personal experiences, I've never felt like I've worked with a contractor who reflects the image he presented in the estimate process as accurately as what has plate dout. I never felt like Mike went out of his way to create hidden costs and expand jobs. We hit a couple snags of course, but anything that went wrong that I felt was on the contractor side, Mike attempted to fix.I would 100% use MDM again. Furthermore, I would willingly talk to anyone who wants to speak to me directly. Just ask Mike for my contact info. He'll know who wrote this review from the pics.“

“Eli and First Quality Builders did a good job at remodeling my bathroom and kitchen. They made suggestions about the type of kitchen cabinets I should get and I am happy that I followed their suggestions re a corner lazy Susan cabinet, pull-out cabinets, and countertop lights. Eli and his crew were totally professional--the best part is that there were no job delays. When Eli said someone would be there at 8 am on Tuesday-they were there at 8 am on Tuesday. Eli promptly responded to all my calls and texts. It has been over 6 years that the work was done, and everything still looks wonderful and works. The only issue I had was that in the bathroom, the worker replaced my medicine cabinet in the original space in the wall without thinking as it was completely off- center to the sink and vanity. They had to take it out and redo the inset. That should have been done correctly in the beginning. Otherwise, I am very happy with the work done.“

“My bath tub was leaking into the ceiling below me. I was having trouble with the insurance company and my neighbors were being inconvenienced. Oren helped me navigate the insurance company and everyone at HouseRus provided great customer service and was patient. When they began the work they arrived on time and worked all day. They covered my floors and were very clean. The tile work was beautiful and the tub alined perfectly. The vanity and medicine cabinets were installed as I requested. I love my new bathroom! “I needed to add new countertops and backsplash to my outdated kitchen and I knew this was going to be an enormous project so I did my due diligence and got 6 different quotes. The cost range wasn't to wide, but I knew for a job like this, quality over expense was the priority. Carlos at C-Bek Tile and Stone made my decision a no brainer. I spoke to Carlos many, many times about this project. In fact, when I sent him a message through Yelp on a Sunday before I had picked a contractor, he immediately called me to discuss my questions. Right then and there I knew this was the team to go with. Carlos was always available to talk. I sent him pictures, Home Depot links for tile, grout and Schluter evaluations and he always responded thoroughly and promptly. “What can I say? I bought a house that was in need of a pretty decent overhaul inside and in the garage. Lee and NextDoor not only came in with a very reasonable bid, but a much better timeline than any other contractor -- and she kept to it.She has a team that works nonstop. I'm talking nights and weekends, which I've never seen before from contractors. She is on-site once a day, at least, if not more. There isn't a day she isn't coming by to examine the work her team does. Everything happens fast, fast, fast, which helped because we were paying rent and mortgage, while work was being done.We're very happy with how the house turned out - especially our new kitchen! My budget didn't allow me to do all I wanted to do, but for the money I did have, Lee and her team did great work.As soon as I save enough, I'll be calling her back to do more!“

“This is the second time we hired Pearl Remodeling for a major project, and we’re just as happy with the results this time as we were with the first. Major storm damage meant we had to almost completely rebuild both bedrooms and bathrooms. From the very beginning our contractor Gal was committed to getting us back into our condo as quickly as possible. He kept the work on schedule despite multiple challenges. When the flooring we’d ordered from Home Depot showed up with major flaws, he went the same day to find new laminate for us and delivered it himself. He made suggestions for building back better than before, and the results are wonderful. Kevin who supervised the project communicated with us the whole time to make sure we were happy with the work.
