More recently, our granite counter in the kitchen had a pretty deep chip that had started to spread cracks. B A Stone came out and repaired it, made it look like new and completely stopped the crack, as well. No muss, no fuss.

“I found out about Rafael Floors from the great reviews they have. I was looking for carpet in my 3 bedrooms and hallway of my condo. I looked at a few places that didn’t cut it. When I went to Rafael Floors and spoke with Robert Gomez, I was really impressed with his knowledge about flooring and carpeting. It was obvious he had decades of experience. I told him what I was looking for, and he answered a bunch of questions I had about carpet, quality, and the selection. I went home with several samples to check out how they looked in the different light throughout the day. After looking at the samples in my place for a week, I found the perfect carpet and color I wanted. Robert came over for measurements and an estimate. Everything had gone smoothly and professional to this point where in other places there were flags that would stop me cold, and I would stop the process and move on. The whole selection and purchase process with Robert went smoothly, and they were ready to install the carpet before I was because I had some painting that needed to be done, and I had to delay them several times. When I was finally ready, Juan and Douglas arrived on time to install the carpet. It was a two-day process, and I was really impressed how methodical they were. It was like they were putting together a puzzle they were really familiar with and each part was being sized and put in its place. I later found out that Rafael Floors has a lengthy training process for their installers that takes years. It starts with a 5-year apprentice program where they work under a journeyman installer before they can go out to install a carpet. Juan described to me what a momentous and serious occasion it was after 5 years to finally have a project of his own and being responsible for all the materials and making the customer happy. They did a perfect job and I was one happy customer. That was 3 months ago and I wanted to be sure that others would see my review like I saw others’ so they would know what I know about Rafael Floors. “Larry Klosowski and his able team of Glenn and Steve, spent roughly two weeks refinishing a few thousand square feet of hardwood flooring in our home. Larry and his team operated very carefully in our home, caused no collateral damage to walls or anything else, fulfilled every commitment they made, and completed the job on time. “After getting 5 on-site quotes from various flooring installers, we knew we had made the right decision by hiring Aleksey and his talented crew at Elite Hardwood & Flooring. Our job consisted of pulling up rooms of old carpet as well as an old kitchen hardwood floor, and replacing it all with 3/4” engineered wood from a Canadian company called Mirage.

Elite’s quote for materials and labor was not the most expensive nor the least, but when going through our house, Aleksey thought of questions, spotted issues, AND thought of solutions that no one else had asked about or even noticed. He was also the only one who told us that he could carefully remove our elaborate wooden baseboards without breaking most or all of them. Every other place simply said we would likely need to replace it all. As a result, their pricing was actually lower than anyone else if you take into account the cost we saved by not having to replace one single piece of baseboard.

He was meticulous, measuring three times before ordering materials just to make sure he got the numbers right. Installation went smoothly and included work like grinding down areas of our foundation that were not smooth, moisture testing, coating of the slab with a moisture barrier, etc. They also made sure they installed the wood in a manner that will allow the kitchen appliances to be removed without damaging the floor, when the time comes that they need to be replaced. Again, no one else we spoke with even mentioned any of this.

There were transitions between floorings of some rooms that were at different heights. For some of the areas, Aleksey did not care for the off the shelf transitions that companies sell. Instead, he and his crew crafted their own transition pieces & thresholds that looked beautiful and did the job. Far more elegant and unintrusive. They did the same for the transitions between stone surrounding fireplaces and one bathroom. Everything was carefully thought through.

The guys showed up at 8 AM and sometimes worked until 5 or 6 pm if they were trying to get certain things done. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, polite and cleaned up after themselves. Communication with Aleksey was always good.

Elite Hardwood & Flooring is not simply an installation company. They are craftsmen that take a great deal of pride in their work and the results show it.
