I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Holistic Hyperbarics. I traveled to the Bay Area from the Midwest to stay for one month of treatments. I had a couple of choices for treatment centers and chose Alex’s center as her team expediently and clearly communicated options and I resonated with Alex’s story. I was not disappointed with this choice. Often businesses start off hot and run cold with regard to offerings, but I found the experience here to exceed expectations. It took longer than we hoped to feel and see results but around treatment 18th a noticeable difference occurred. My pathology is deep and old so it wasn’t a huge surprise. My only complaint is, Alex doesn’t have a Midwest facility!
I highly recommend HH for treatments as the space is beautiful, the quality of care/safety is outstanding, the staff is top notch and Alex is an incredible woman giving back to community in a myriad of ways. Her attention to detail, humor, generosity and compassion are appreciated. I enjoyed all 22 of my dives and have zero regrets. If I could do 40 more, I would in a heartbeat.

Just one introductory session with these folks completely shifted how I think about strength training. I love that the foundation of this work is rooted in a philosophy that emphasizes slowness, deep presence and muscle fatigue instead of number of reps. Their resistance training is designed to meet you wherever you're at and consistently challenge you to find the next edge. These folks really care about their craft and their culture really motivated me to give it my best -- highly recommend working with them!
I have been going to Anita for a few months now and she is by far the best person to ever do my eyebrows! I wish and I had before and after pictures because she has really transformed my eyebrows!! When we were ready to remodel our home, we interviewed 3 contractors with the intention of redoing our kitchen and two bathrooms down to the studs, plus additional upgrades to the rest of the house and garage. After meeting with Kevin, we decided without hesitation to go with HDR. He clearly spelled out their process and we liked their approach, a design/build firm that takes care of everything (design consultation, plans, permits, construction) -- the other contractors expected us to find and hire an architect and get the permits.
When things got underway, we had the pleasure of working with HDR’s architect, Milton, who patiently developed the plans always mindful of our wishes, making recommendations where appropriate. Once construction started, the team, led by our Project Manager, Julio, proved to be a no-nonsense outfit, staying very focused and busy throughout construction. Julio was crafty, coming up with great solutions when things seemed complicated, coordinating with the subs, trying to keep things on schedule. Not surprisingly, there were some frustrations along the way, delays with the permits, a few hiccups coordinating with subs, but HDR quickly addressed things. We also assumed they would discover some issues during construction, as our 71 yr.-old home had more than its share when we purchased it. This is where Alberto, the Production Manager, was particularly helpful. Whenever an issue arose, he stepped in and explained things clearly and made recommendations, frequently pointing to long-term benefits and efficiencies. Alberto was indispensable from beginning to end!
To sum it up, we are so happy to have hired HDR. They were responsive and skilled, from Cindy in the front office to all the guys and subs who worked hard to leave us with a beautiful end product. They did the work “the right way,” never cut corners, strictly adhered to best practices, as noted by the Berkeley inspections, and it shows! Importantly, they listened to us whenever we had a concern (another shout-out to Alberto, Julio, Milton, Kevin, and Chris!), and transformed a “funky” house into our “new,” comfortable, beautiful home! Thanks to everyone at HDR!
After meeting several architects, engineers and construction company owners, I can honestly say Al and his team (Molly ) are a God send. We just completed our consultation and my mom ( who has been so mistreated and dismissed previously) couldn't contain her excitement about this wonderful team. They treated her with such positivity, care, kindness, professionalism. They explained everything they were doing without ever talking down to her, they worked clean, and efficiently ( thanks to their top of the line tech) and made sure to be respectful of our home as if it was their own. They made her feel comfortable and showed so much empathy for our very critical and difficult situation. I will update my review as the project continues but I just had to write a review ASAP because this team deserves so much praise!!
Ken is wonderful person and excellent at his job. He first started wroking for me when I bought my 1926 home in 1998. It needed absoultely EVERYTHING. He put in a new water line from the street, bolted and sheer walled and reinforced a major beam to earthquake-proof it, all new electrical and copper plumbing, beautifully finished a large part of the home that only had a cement floor and sink with no interior walls, completely remodeled one bathroom, rebuilt an entire side of my home due to undetected termite rot, hooked up all my appliances and more. What I paid is irrelevent because it was so long ago.
What is relevant is that Ken is a magician. Every time you are upset about something not going right (because that will always happen with any big job), he will come into the situation and figure out a solution that makes everyone happy (including a highly problematic architect). I'm totally serious about this. This skill alone is worth everything. His crews' craftsmanship is excellent. He finishes work within the time estimates. This is how good of a contractor Ken is: He has been working in the East Bay since the late 1970s and since the 1980s he has been living in the same home in North Berkeley to the present. You will always be able to contact him. He will always get back to you right away.
In terms of cost, I think he is right in the middle--not expensive and not inexpensive for contractors in the Bay Area.
Ken has helped me with many small problems that have arisen over the decades (painting my house, leaking roof; leaking at bathroom window; flooding occurring at my exterior bedroom door; etc.), and he always comes by to give me his time and advice and to hook me up with reliable people who can help me at the lowest cost.
I just can't say enough about how wonderful Ken is to work with.

I've been going to Tina for my waxes, and she is absolutely amazing! She's so gentle, quick, and professional, which makes the whole experience so much easier and more comfortable. What I really appreciate is how much she genuinely cares for your skin and sensitivities--she always takes the time to make sure you're comfortable and that your skin is well cared for during and after the service. The location is super convenient, and parking has never been an issue, which makes scheduling appointments stress-free. I highly recommend Tina if you're looking for someone who combines skill with true care and professionalism!

Melanie has been doing my hair for years. She knows what I want more than I do. She is excellent with curly hair and I have referred many a happy customer to her. My 16 year old daughter is even happy with the results of her haircuts and that says a lot for a 16 yo!
We started working with ODS in the middle of the pandemic to do a whole home remodel. Having never done anything remotely like this before, ODS guided us through the entire process and were an invaluable resource and partner in all the decisions that we needed to make for a project of this size. Even though we didn't have a clear idea of what we wanted at the beginning and our ideas changed throughout the process, we ended up with a home that we absolutely love living in. When we receive compliments on the design of our house, we are always quick to give credit to ODS for their vision of what could be done. ODS steadily moved the project through the numerous city requirements of planning reviews, neighborhood meetings, and permitting. They were great about knowing how to gently (sometimes directly) guide us towards good choices that we now recognize make a huge difference in how we use our space. Anytime we had questions, needed more information, or encountered issues with the project, ODS was quick to respond and offer solutions. We really can't say enough about how great our experience has been with ODS and how pleased we are with the end result.

I booked this massage with my Groupon code for my birthday and I'm glad I did! I'm a law student who is very stressed and sits in front of a lap most of the day and I could feel the impacts of both of those on my body. I was searching for places that did full body massages but weren't asking for a ridiculous amount of money because like I said I'm in grad school. I wanted a female masseuse and after looking through her reviews on Google and about page I decided to book. I'm glad I did. you can choose your pressure levels and hands off areas which I appreciated! the hot stones were my favorite part! I did pressure 3 on 1-5 scale but I think I'd go down one level next time. I would recommend doing some light stretching before your massage. I did the 90 minute Swedish and deep pressure and paid a little over $120. the suite was nice and its located in a building with other suites for hairstylists, barbers, nail techs, waxing, etc.

This is only my second Yelp review, which I am leaving only because I feel it is necessary (and overdue). Lester has cut my hair every couple of weeks for 6 years. The haircuts are consistently the best I have ever gotten (and I've gotten my hair cut by excellent barbers across the country). He is always on time and professional. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Abante just finished a major repiping job at our 6 unit apartment building in Berkeley. They were neat, efficient and terrific craftsmen. They always left the water on at the end of the day so tenants were never without. They were practically dust free when opening plaster walls. They were diplomatic with the tenants. We worked with a T&M agreement and they came in right about where we had estimated. I don't hesitate to recommend them!

Excellent customer service. Mohamed is a friendly guy and there were no problems. He isn't one of those mobile notaries so you have to go to his place but then you don't have to pay another $50-75 for a travel fee. As advertised. I would recommend him.

Great service and attention to detail! I think they ne r to get an air filter though because it smells so strongly of chemicals, more than any salon I've been to. I got a medium length gel x manicure and it was $80 which I think is kind of expensive but I love how they turned out!

I have found Dr. Haynes Dental to be a professional organization in every aspect - customer service, dental services, scheduling/reminders and being proactive with dental trends and equipment. I travel a lot and the toothbrush, toothpaste and floss help men stayed prepared in my travels. I have also enjoyed my conversations and observations with Dr. Haynes. I highly recommend this dental office.
Customer service is great and super friendly. We get items dry cleaned and altered all the time. Only once before the seam on my pants came undone and they fixed again for no charge. Also very inexpensive to come here and love that there is parking lol.

Got a great haircut from Lauren. I got the dry cut for curly hair and she cut and styled it great. I requested that it be cut in a way that looks good as it grows longer. It’s been a few months now and it still looks good!
First time venturing to a new barber in my city. No walk ins here, appointment only. Booking was easy, and the shop has a great vibe. Brodie gave me a great cut, and styled it a little different than usual, which my wife appreciated. Only thing I'm not used to is the price, which may keep me from frequenting this shop.
I’ve been going to Roman for years, ever since he ran a kiosk in the Emeryville shopping center. His repairs have made my phones like new. On my current iPhone 13 he recently fixed both my charging port (a complicated repair) and cracked screen in a couple hours from when I called. He’s fast and his prices are very fair for the quality and speed of work. It’s clear that he’s an expert in mobile devices and repair.
