“From my first meeting with Darryl in the parking lot of Cascade Fire Solutions, one random Friday after my furnace had turned itself off 3 times in 2 weeks during a cold snap, I have had nothing but a good experience with Cascade Fire Solutions.That Friday Darryl showed me around the showroom. I told him, I don't want to be reliant on only one source of heat (which failed me) when it gets to 12 degrees. I told him I wanted a workhorse, nothing fancy with alabaster sides and blue ice burning in the fireplace. I wanted something that could take a hit and still run for years. Solid. Darryl followed me home so he could see my current fireplace, which he called Decorative.I guess I should say this is a new house for us. I knew the fireplace was decorative because when that cold snap hit, my husband and I opened windows so that we could get a good draw up the chimney. My husband put in paper, a presto log, and brittle/dry firewood. He tried lighting it with a propane torch. Yes we opened the damper, but the fire wasn't drawing. And for a few days after you could smell the wood smoldering (yes damper was open) but it never caught. I also want to add, for 15 years we lived in a house that only had a wood burning stove as it's sole form of heat, we know how to make things burn.I asked my neighbors who have lived in the neighborhood for 30 years about their fireplace and they said, "We tried to use it 5 times, it just wouldn't draw. We don't use it."I got a bid from Darryl on a gas insert. He sat at my kitchen table while he went through the various options for me to chose from. I don't want fancy. I want a worker bee. My choice wasn't top of the line, but it was solid. Darryl was a great guy, who knows all there is about this stuff, and he was generous with his time with us.Yesterday Nate and Cody showed up. Super great guys. Knowledgeable, diligent, hard workers. They arrived with blue booties in their hands for their shoes. They didn't have a problem with my dogs, one of which barks at you when he wants to be petted. They like dogs. They emptied the failed attempted fire debris, dismantled the existing wood burning, did some sheet metal work to make sure everything fit back into place perfectly, ran the gas line and did the the electrical to set the system up, readying it for an permit inspection today.On Daryl's first trip to visit our fireplace, I asked if he knew anyone who could replace a vent fan over the stove. Daryl said, "We can do that." He added that to the bid for us. Darryl showed up yesterday to check in and helped with the install of the vent hood, and at one point ended up on the roof with Cody too to make sure that it was working correctly. The vent hood is a beauty and we are very excited about that.I wanted this installation permitted, and Cascade set the appointment up for a county guy to check out the install. The county sent their permit guy this morning, who arrived around 9am and checked and approved the new gas line. I called Cascade to come back to fire this thing up. (Can't fire it up till the gas line is approved if you get the installation permitted).I am waiting on Cody, he will be here between 2-4pm. So excited about this.Super people. Super installers. Super dooper sales guy.Overall great experience. They can do fancy, they sell it. But for me, I just want experienced guys who have done installs over and over again, and nothing really throws them cause they have seen it all.Experienced.I give Daryl, Cody and Nate high marks!Addendum: Cody came by and finished the job on my installation. Oh my gosh! I wish you could see/feel how warm and cozy my living room looks with this beautiful insert. Cody walked us through all the controls (which I videotaped cause I am an old people). He even cleaned up the tiles on the floor around the insert. Such a great guy! I am very very happy with this whole process and highly recommend Cascade Fire Solutions!“
