I don’t even know where to begin with Dr. Alan Ludwig. Five stars honestly doesn’t feel like enough.
I have several complex chronic illnesses, including severe gastroparesis and dysautonomia, that have left me hospitalized numerous times, bedridden for months at a time, dependent on a feeding tube, and struggling with relentless nausea and vomiting. Living with chronic illness means seeing a lot of healthcare providers, and I can honestly say that Dr. Ludwig is one of the most compassionate providers I have ever had.
Before seeing Dr. Ludwig, I had a very negative experience with another chiropractor that completely destroyed my trust in chiropractic care. I honestly wasn’t sure I would ever feel comfortable seeing another chiropractor again. Dr. Ludwig changed that. From the very beginning, he treated me with the utmost professionalism, kindness, and respect. He always makes sure I feel comfortable, explains everything he’s doing, and has rebuilt my confidence in chiropractic care. I am incredibly grateful that I gave it one more chance.
What has always stood out to me is how genuinely Dr. Ludwig cares. He truly listens, takes every concern seriously, never rushes appointments, and makes you feel like you’re the only patient that matters while you’re there. He didn’t shy away from the complexity of my medical history. Instead, after hearing me desperately express that I needed to somehow improve my quality of life, he welcomed me with compassion, empathy, and hope. He didn’t see a complicated medical history as a reason to keep his distance—he saw a person whose quality of life mattered. That mindset has been evident in every appointment since, and I have never doubted that he is in this profession because he sincerely wants to help people heal and live better lives.
As for my own experience, I first noticed that the severity of my nausea improved and I was vomiting less often. Later, I went through one of the worst flares I’ve ever had, with repeated hospitalizations and months where I was either in the hospital or confined to bed. Once I was finally able to return for regular treatments, I found that his care was the one intervention that consistently helped me begin climbing out of that flare. While everyone’s experience is different, I am incredibly thankful for the difference his care has made in my own quality of life.
One of the things I appreciate most is how he explains what he’s doing. His analogy of the brain as the “cell phone tower” and the spine/body as the cell phone makes so much sense. The tower can send a signal, but if that signal doesn’t reach the phone properly, communication breaks down. It helped me understand the role the nervous system plays throughout the body in a way that was simple, memorable, and empowering.
The office itself is clean, welcoming, and very well maintained, but what truly makes this practice special is Dr. Ludwig himself. He genuinely cares about his patients as people, not just their symptoms. He asks about your life, celebrates your victories, and supports you through the setbacks. That kind of compassion is rare.
I’ve already referred multiple friends and family members to Dr. Ludwig because I trust him completely. If you’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable, genuinely compassionate, and deeply invested in the well-being of his patients, I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has made a meaningful difference in my life, and I will always be grateful! Thank you!
