“mountain kim martial arts has been one of the best decisions ive made in my life. ive been coming here for almost 10 years now and growing up with learning taekwondo has been life changing.

not only did i learn taekwondo here, i also learned discipline along with respect. i used to be a pretty loud kid, however when i was in class, i became focused to learn. the instructors here all have the student’s best interest at heart and will always try their absolute best to help them get better while still pushing them enough so that it is not too easy. not only do they teach taekwondo, however also help overall physical condition, helping to stay healthy.

taekwondo ended up being my main sport and this place is the reason i kept going. being here has given me tons of positive experiences and friendships. i couldnt have been more grateful for the instructors, and growth this place has given me.“

It's been an absolutely *fantastic* learning experience. Husband & wife team of Shifu Chris & Weiwei Friedman are obviously, **extremely** knowledgeable and accomplished in Shaolin Kung Fu -- and very fit, too! They're also friendly, patient, and have a great sense of humor. And the other students are kind and friendly, too. We're all just learning and improving together.

The classes and training are suitable for adults of all ages, if you have decent basic mobility. You don't need any prior knowledge or training in martial arts. This is NOT like a kickboxing or cross-fit class ... it's not at that intensity level, but you can get a good workout from it.

I studied martial arts MANY years ago -- including earning a black sash in a different system of kung fu, having studied at schools in 3 different states to earn that. The other system was "good," but this experience with Shifu Chris & Weiwei is far more authentic, informative, and enriching.

I had subscribed to Inside Kung Fu Magazine for 20yrs, and was surprised that Shifu Chris had articles in several of those back issues (!!) from when he & Weiwei lived in China years ago. There he is ... studying and training with the leaders and students there!

Our son is part of the Tiny Tigers program, and Mr. David and Mr. Brian are absolute professionals when it comes to commanding the attention of preschoolers (which is no easy feat). We also appreciate that the administrative staff is responsive and offers great answers/solutions to any questions we have. “Lead by Example After School Care has been hands down the best after-school program our family has ever experienced. The staff is genuinely caring and kind, and they’ve built a place that helps kids grow in confidence, leadership, and a real sense of community.

They have supported our daughter in so many ways — including helping her with reading — and we’ve seen real growth because of it. Belt testing has also been amazing for her. Having clear, short-term goals has given her motivation and drive, and she’s so proud of herself as she works toward each new belt.

Our younger daughter already can’t wait to go next year, which says everything. Mr. Randolph has already built such a sweet connection with her, and it’s clear how much the kids are seen and cared for there.

They are incredibly reliable with pick-ups, even on early release days, which takes so much stress off parents. And they are a total lifesaver on snow days and FCPS days off — the kids love the field trips and always come home happy and excited.

This is truly the best place to send your kids — after school, on days off, or for camps. Mr. Tue, Mr. Randolph, and Mr. Nicholas are unmatched and consistently go above and beyond for the kids.

As a bonus, their monthly Parents’ Night Out is always a huge hit. Our kids are pumped every time and never want to leave.

“This studio is such a find! We tried another martial arts program in the area and found it so impersonal and robotic. Coach Dante, Coach Antonio, and the rest of the staff go above and beyond with their students, building their confidence and encouraging them to push themselves. They also make sure the kids still have fun. This is the first sports program our son is excited to attend every week and it's been awesome to watch him participate. The studio itself was a little hard to track down with Google maps but it's worth seeking out.“
