Virginia Dojo - Alexandria Martial Arts offers proven effective adult martial arts training focused on real-world self-defense. The dojo emphasizes learning natural body movement reactions against common attacks like grabs, pushes, pulls, kicks, and punches. Led by a 9th Degree Karate Master with over 50 years of training and 45 years of teaching experience, Virginia Dojo provides a supportive and welcoming environment for students of all ages and skill levels. The dojo has been recognized as "Best Martial Art in Alexandria" for 2022 and "Best Martial Arts Instructors in Alexandria" for 2020 and 2021 by Expertise. Students praise the instructors for their patience, dedication, and genuine care for each student's progress. Beginner classes are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at 7 pm and Saturday mornings at 9 am. The dojo fosters a strong sense of community, with members supporting each other and Sensei Roberto actively guiding students on their individual journeys in karate.
