“This was the most efficient and friendly service I have ever had at an eye doctor! I brought a book and didn’t even open it once because I never waited longer than a few seconds for each service. The medical care was also quick but without feeling rushed. I loved the perk of getting some sunglasses and also appreciated getting my contact price matched to what I would pay at Costco. Amari at checkout was especially personable and helpful!“

I got scrips for several different strengths of lenses for my different needs and am very pleased. “I really recommend Midlothian Optometric Center; they don't waste your time and answer all questions. They accept Anthem HealthKeepers Plus but are not the best deal if you're trying to pay out of pocket (OOP). This can be different if your insurance is more flexible with what they'll cover.Exam: Took about 45 minutes, probably because I ask a lot of questions. Dr. Alsop is very thorough and makes sure to answer all questions and explains them well enough for anyone to understand.Eyeglasses: The in-house optician is really high energy and very sales-oriented. Not sure if they still have the same optician. Frame selection was primarily from that one big eyewear company, and the prices were standard for the industry. They do offer eyewear that is covered completely by Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, but they're going to use standard plastic lenses. Not the office's fault, just what my insurance covered. Take good care of them if you go with standard plastic for adults; they can scratch easily.Summary: The doctor is excellent, and they have a selection of nice frames to choose from if you can afford them or have more flexible options with your individual insurance plan. I personally just browsed the frames, took pictures of the one I wanted, ordered it online, and had the lenses created at Walmart Vision. While not covered by my insurance, it still got me the frames I wanted with lenses I knew would hold up to my life without scratching. Midlothian Optometric can make the same thing, maybe even better, but it just boiled down to the difference in cost for me.“

“I was in a bad place after breaking my neck and becoming immobile. I live in Elliston and have no support. During transportation to Richmond hospital, my contacts were lost. My own Eye Center in Roanoke didn’t offer much help, but the staff at Dr Toler’s staff jumped in and not only provided me contact lenses, a storage case, but some lens care solution as well.
Dr Toler even delivered my lenses to my hospital room during his lunch.

“Everything went very well until the last step, where they put me in an exam room and said the doctor would be with me “shortly.” 25 minutes later, after sitting in a darkened room, he finally came in. I know he’s busy but maybe they should have had me wait in the sitting area rather than an exam room“

“You start with Ms. Pat setting up your appointment. She is also the first to greet you and help you with the paperwork and preliminary tests. She'll set you at ease from the start. Dr. Isner performs the eye exam himself (not a technician) and he takes his time. You won't feel rushed, and you'll get the right results for what is needed in your eyeglasses. His exam is thorough for detecting any possible eye problems. Top notch eye care: you won't be disappointed.“

“Dr Greene was amazing. He really did take the time to answer all my questions, and I felt like he cared for my health. He was filling out a form to see if I qualified for re-treatment for lasik, and he filled out all the required information, as well as additional information... going the extra mile. He spent a full hour with me, and it was really nice chatting with him. He explains medical stuff in a way that a non-doctor can understand.Yes the place the interior and equipment was a little out dated, however his 40+ years of experience and demeanor assured me that I was in good hands.I saw another doctor at Willow Lawn a couple months earlier, and gave him bad review because although he had a nice location, nice office, and updated equipment, I didn't feel like he really cared for me as a patient.“
