5500 Butler St, Pittsburgh“I started doing 1-on-1 training sessions a month ago now, and I'm really glad I chose PFP. I had a lot of anxiety about walking into a gym, but everyone here has been very warm and welcoming. I've worked with coaches Andi, Deon, and Wes so far; all three of them have been excellent and tailored my sessions to what is best for me and my body. I'm improving myself while learning the right way to exercise, and that makes it fun.
I cannot speak enough to the entire staff's generosity and inclusiveness. From the first time I walked in the door and spoke to Andi, I truly felt like their staff wants you to succeed whatever your fitness goals might be. If you're feeling anxiety or intimidation on getting started with working out, check out PFP. It's worth the time!“

4156 Library Rd, Pittsburgh“Excellent small‑group strength training gym. The coaches are knowledgeable and encouraging (and yet will always push you when you need that extra kick!). The small class sizes make sessions feel personalized, and the community is supportive. During my time at Iron City Elite, I got stronger & saw real results. Sadly I'm moving and have to say goodbye. Highly recommend this gym!“

88 Fort Couch Rd, Pittsburgh“I have been going to Locke's Personal Fitness for a little over four months, and I am hooked! Sherry and her team are awesome. As someone new to the formal gym environment, Sherry does an excellent job teaching me how to use the equipment and explains what each workout is targeting. With her help, I am already seeing major results. She has made the entire process manageable and fun.“

8013 McKnight Rd, Pittsburgh“I love this community of moms! I found Fit4Mom almost 3 years ago, attending nervously for an Open House event. After a class or two, I knew that I just had to continue going.
-The workouts are great and can be easily adapted to reach you where you are at physically.
-The instructors are so helpful when a little when is having an “off” day. They blow bubbles, sing songs, read books, push a stroller, hold your baby, pick up thrown toys. They are there to let you get the most out of your hour workout.
-It is a great opportunity to connect with other moms, get and share advice/tips, and simply laugh (maybe even cry).
-I love that both of my kids get to meet and play with other kids, forming their own little friendships from the stroller and then the built in play dates after each class.
-The monthly outings are great too! Mom’s Night Out and Meet Ups with the kids! There’s even family events throughout the year. It truly is a wonderful community to be a part of.
WE’RE MORE THAN JUST A WORKOUT!“

8AM - 10PM
605 Melwood Ave, Pittsburgh“There may be other trainers as good as Josh, but I genuinely don’t think there’s anyone better—he really embodies the archetype of what a trainer should be in every way and I'm going to be devastated to leave Josh/Training relevations behind when I leave Pittsburgh.
I first came to Josh as a tired resident-physician with constant lower back pain and a fragmented/unfocused fitness habits. Working with Josh changed my health in a way that has been truly surprising to me. My strength, posture, and pain have all improved and my lower back pain is completely gone. My mindset around health/fitness has really shifted in a way I didn't realize was possible.
Not only does Josh have a wealth of knowledge of experience. what really make his sessions work is how tailored they are to you. It’s a genuinely bespoke experience—built around your body, your constraints, and your life. He’s incredibly detail-oriented and seems to intuitively understand fitness/the body in a way that’s rare. You really see it in how he cues, how he adjusts things in real time, and how he builds a program that actually fits your life style. He used to be a social worker, and you can tell from the way he holistically approaches wellness.
There’s also a level of care here that’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it. This doesn’t feel like a business, you can tell this is his calling. He's a sole proprietor. He’s fair and incredibly thoughtful in how he operates. He’s deeply invested in your health, in a way that for me, actually exceeded the level of investment I had in my own health before I started. I’m a neurologist, and I would recommend him to any of my patients with mobility issues without hesitation.
One other thing that genuinely makes a difference for me is - this is a private gym and it is impeccably clean. I can be a little finicky about about hygiene and environment, and this is one of the only gyms I've ever been in where I don’t feel distracted by that at all. Everything is spotless, organized, and intentional. It changes the entire experience for me - the sessions actually feel calm and restorative. Instead of dreading a crowded, chaotic gym, after a crazy day at the hospital, I look forward to coming to see Josh each week. It feels like a reset rather than another task.
Finally, the community he’s created through his training also stands out. The people he trains are engaged, accountable, and kind—it becomes a quiet but real source of reinforcement when you run into each other.
He’s a master of his craft. If you’re considering it training, it’s worth it!“

9AM - 6PM
1408 S Negley Ave, Pittsburgh“I have been working with JoAnn at Hydration Health and Fitness for nearly two years. From day one JoAnn listened to my concerns and frustrations about my past with various diets and exercise and empathized deeply. She helped me to instill new habits that are sustainable and realistic with my day to day life. I now feel that I know how to exercise safely, set my own (realistic!!) goals, and create sustainable nutrition plans for myself. Additionally, she helped me to gain a much healthier and less negative outlook on nutrition and exercise which makes this process even more rewarding.“
8AM - 7PM
250 Mt Lebanon Blvd #413, Pittsburgh“I have been training with Marcie at Touchstone for nearly 8 months now. She has helped me to tune into my body’s form and function during the exercises, which has translated into my daily life. I feel stronger and find myself able to do things I haven’t done in years, without pain.
Marcie, under the guidance of Lisa, is thorough and clear in her instructions/ cues, compassionate, and takes the Pilates method seriously, but has fun with her students at the same time.
I HIGHLY recommend Touchstone to anyone wanting to train as Joe Pilates intended.“

5AM - 9PM
5746 Baum Blvd, Pittsburgh“I have had a great experience as a client at terraFITNESS.
After discussing what I was looking for in a personal trainer with the owner Terra, I was referred to Alex. Alex, like Terra, seemed genuinely interested in how I could best be helped and he has proved to be a remarkably postive force in my life over the past few years.
Alex’s approach to personal training is geared around helping clients achieve their goals (mine were maintaining a solid level of health as I entered middle age, weight loss, and increased strength and flexibility) while instilling positive, realistic habits. As a trainer, Alex is very conscientious and what he’s taught me (and has had me to do in the gym) has evolved over the years as I’ve been become much more fit.
Besides being very knowledgeable in exercise science and nutrition, he’s an intelligent and thoughtful person and though he, himself, is an athlete, he is sympathetic to clients (like myself) who are neither athletic nor natural fans of exercise. He manages to push me to achieve, while never making me self-conscious about my limitations. The progress I’ve made is very real and evident to everyone who knows me. I am in far better shape than I was before I became a client at terraFITNESS.
The facility, itself, is quite nice: a large, well equipped loft space located on Baum Blvd near Shadyside in Pittsburgh.“
“Dr Brad is the best. He is so knowledgeable but more importantly, his treatments are effective.“
“Very cool and good training. The coaches here are all very handsome including Sam. Will be back soon“
