“I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Schoonover. When Liam injured his eye, he was in a lot of pain, couldn’t tolerate light, and was having trouble seeing out of it. As his mom, I was terrified.
She was amazing with him from the beginning. She was patient and gentle and explained everything to both of us. He had to go through a lot of testing and different drops, and eventually needed a bandage contact lens for his corneal abrasion. She made something that could have been really scary for a 7-year-old so much easier for him.
What I appreciate most is how closely she has followed him since the injury. She has continued to recheck his eye and make sure it’s healing the way it should. I never feel rushed or like any of my concerns are too small. I genuinely feel like she cares about Liam and his recovery.
I’m sharing a picture because it shows just how bad his poor eye looked. Seeing your child like this and knowing his vision is affected is scary, and I’m so thankful we had someone we trust taking care of him.
