“The Lees have built a beautiful community in LMAA. Their impact on our kids spans more than martial arts. They teach respect, discipline, self-confidence, perseverance, patience, teamwork, leadership, and more. As a parent, I have benefitted from their insights as well and am grateful for their experience and partnership over the years.“
“I love Master D.J. he is an amazing instructor. He is very dedicated to his work and is very helpful to his students. He always has opportunities for them to progress and get better. He is very patient and always has a vision on the next steps for each student and tailors his instruction to get them there. This is easily the best Taekwondo school in the state and the top performers crush it at tournaments.“
“This is a great studio where the students truly learn techniques, respect, and have a good time. My son has built his confidence and patience and has even learned some Korean! I would highly recommend Ketzal Martial Arts and the instructor Ms. Eiseman.“
“Our twin boys wanted to join a martial arts class and we happened upon Ascent Martial Arts via one of their classmates. They have now been practicing a month and are so excited every time we go. The Mauro’s have made their experience amazing.“
“I've been going to Murrayhill Martial Arts for years. I love training here. It is great group of people I train with.“
“Learned self defense. Nice instructors, had a friend try it out and they welcomed him like as if he had actually been taking the class.“
“Discovering Choi's Tae Kwon Do in Beaverton, Oregon, was a turning point in my extensive martial arts journey. With over 50 years of Tae Kwon Do practice under my belt and having earned a 4th-degree black belt, I've had the privilege of training at more than 10 schools across the globe. Yet, it is at Choi's Tae Kwon Do where I've found a truly unparalleled experience. What sets Choi's Tae Kwon Do apart is not just its rigorous adherence to the traditional values and techniques of the martial art but its commitment to fostering a community where respect, discipline, and personal growth are paramount. The instructors at Choi's demonstrate an exceptional blend of expertise, passion, and patience, ensuring that every student, regardless of their age or level, receives personalized attention and guidance. The classes are well-structured, balancing physical conditioning, technique drilling, and sparring, all while maintaining a fun and supportive atmosphere. This approach not only enhances your physical capabilities but also deepens your understanding and appreciation of Tae Kwon Do's philosophy and history. Moreover, the facilities at Choi's Tae Kwon Do are top-notch, offering a clean, spacious, and safe environment for training. The school also regularly hosts seminars, tournaments, and special events, providing ample opportunities for students to challenge themselves, showcase their skills, and connect with the wider Tae Kwon Do community.Having experienced various Tae Kwon Do schools, I can confidently say that Choi's Tae Kwon Do stands out as a beacon of martial arts excellence. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or new to the world of martial arts, Choi's offers an enriching, empowering, and enjoyable journey. It's more than just a school; it's a family united by the love of Tae Kwon Do.“
“Today was my sons first class, the instructor was super friendly and patient with my 4 year old, he really enjoyed it ? Highly recommend“
“David has been my trainer in boxing and muay thai for about a year and a half now and I cannot recommend him and his gym enough. Great group instruction and great 1-on-1 advice and correction from a trainer who has a wealth of experience. Pad work, bag work, shadow boxing, footwork drills, and light sparring--you'll do it all in this humble but functional gym. David has also trained champion fighters for those interested in competitive fighting, though there is no pressure for students to fight, and sparring with the other students is very safe and positive. Always a great workout. I've trained at Portland Thai Boxing and at gyms in Arizona and abroad, and Kilian's is subtly the best in my experience.“
“I don't usually write reviews, but this place definitely warranted one. I've got a shy, timid 9-yr-old boy, and this place has been FANTASTIC. My son's been going for three months now and I've seen a huge improvement in his coordination and memory, he's got a longer attention span, and he's not afraid to speak up for himself. From his very first class, they were teaching him important values such as:1) how to stay calm and concentrate when there's chaos around you 2) how to defend yourself from physical harm 3) how to set clear goals and work towards themAll the instructors have mastered how to correct the children while still keeping the class fun and light.Highly recommend!“
“Great school, loving and fun environment with seasoned instructors. Blending styles from the past with a modern understanding of application. Great from beginners to old ninjas alike.“
“This studio has been life changing for my 5 year old son. The coaches strike an amazing balance of being flexible and kind to the kids while also holding an expectation of good effort and good attitude. Coach Tom and Coach Dan in particular have such a good grasp of childhood development. My son has been here a year and started out not even able to make it through a class session without a meltdown due to being shy or having big feelings. But with patience and persistence, the coaches helped him week by week and now a year later he is confident and happy and loves going to class! Going to 5 rings is one of the best things we ever did for our son. 10/10 recommend.“
“US World Class Taekwondo Tigard has been PHENOMENAL for my 6year old son! We started when he was 5- coming 3x a week, and he’s learned so many wonderful skills! the instructors make it so fun and equally educational. We look forward to attaining each new belt level & highly recommend!“
“Awesome place for kids. Master Cruz is very nice man and is great with children. Lots of different ages so there is no problem finding a group to fit in with.“
“My kids love Ki Aikido training with the senseis in Hillsboro Dojo. They are all volunteers but very dedicated to the students. It could be a little boring at first for the kids, but once they are into it, they love it. I also like the fact that they teach them about focusing, relaxing, cordinating mind and body and how to deal with difficulties in school and in life. You are treated like family here.“
“The instruction was good, and the people I rolled with were also great. It is a good community if you are looking for something long term.“
“This is one of the main places I train, and I can't recommend it enough. This is the Impact headquarters, and it is where most of the higher belts in the Impact family train. Every class will have a high number of Brown/Black belts, and there are a lot of competition black belts. Michael Chapman, the head Black Belt, received his Black Belt from Chris Hauter, who is one of the dirty dozen. He's a 5th stripe black belt, and has been training jiu jitsu since 1991. You will rarely find a BB with the experience and knowledge Michael brings to the table. The gym is very large, very clean and very friendly. They have a lot of options in regards to classes with BJJ, MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai and Conditioning being a few of them. They offer a free week trial so you can get the feel of the gym and the vibe of the people. I'd highly recommend it.“
“We took our daughter here for a trial class today, and it was fantastic! Master Lee was great with the kids. He kept them engaged with fun activities while also implementing proper form and values. He made us all feel welcome, and we decided this was the right place for our daughter.“
“Teaching respect of fellow students and Master. Being examples and giving guidance on how to honor eachother while having fun along the way. The afterschool hours are helpful and allow my child to play and get her "wiggles" out after school. Transportation and the Parents night out are nice nice perks! I recommend Musa to the Sherwood community.“
