10400 SE Main St, Milwaukie“Beloved Furball, my 17-year-old heart and soul dog, was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in October 2024. From that moment, I was determined to give him the best care and quality of life possible, and I truly couldn’t have done it without Dr. Freeman and her incredible team at VCSS clinic.
From our very first visit on November 5th, I was touched by the knowledge, patience, and genuine love that everyone at the clinic showed. Losing Furball has been the hardest experience of my life, but I know in my heart that he received the absolute best care every step of the way.
On February 26th, the most difficult day, Dr. Freeman and her team handled everything with such empathy and professionalism. They made sure Furball’s final moments were peaceful, painless, and filled with love. From the gentle blood check to the thorough explanations, Dr. Freeman helped me make the most informed and compassionate decision. The entire process was handled with so much care—giving us enough time to say our goodbyes, ensuring Furball was completely comfortable, and allowing me to be by his side until the very end.
What touched me the most was how Dr. Freeman was not only a vet but a true friend in that moment—she listened to my story with Furball, teared up with me, and comforted me until the clinic closed. Her entire team was there for every detail, making this incredibly painful time just a little easier to bear.
Beyond that day, I want to highlight the outstanding service and dedication I received throughout the four months I brought Furball here. Dr. Freeman was always so responsive, promptly answering my many emails and concerns with patience and expertise. Her knowledge and compassion gave me the strength to navigate Furball’s final chapter, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place for him to receive care. I am forever grateful for the love and dignity they provided to Furball in his final moments and aftercare.
In all, VCSS clinic helped me win precious four months of quality time with Furball , allowing us to cherish every moment together. If you are looking for the best place to treat your pet’s cancer—where expertise, compassion, and love come together—this is the place. Dr. Freeman and her team have unmatched knowledge and genuine care, ensuring that every pet receives not just medical treatment but also the warmth and dignity they deserve. I will forever be grateful for everything they have done for Furball and for me.“

590 3rd St, Lake Oswego“They did an amazing job on our first visit with our Bernese Mountain Dog.
He is a very vocal dog, they knew exactly how to deal with him and did it well.
My parents have been taking their 10-year-old BMD to them ever since moving back here over two years ago. The only regret I have is not going to them sooner.“

315 NE Killingsworth St, Portland“Our pup broke her nail really bad, and while Heart and Soul couldn't get us in the day it happened, we were able to schedule an appointment for 9am the next day. The staff was very sweet and kind with our dog. We left her in their care around 9:20, and got the call around 10:45 for her nail removal was successful, and we could pick her up at noon.
While our dog was groggy from the sedation, she is healing nicely. On top of it all the price wasn't too bad. We highly recommend Heart and Soul for any pet emergency!“

1250 NW 10th Ave, Portland“I have been talking my furry family members to Pearl Animal Hospital since I moved back to the PNW 6 years ago. I have been so grateful for their care. They do a beautiful job of explaining my options, what’s necessary for health & wellness for my furfam & have always been kind, patient, & understanding when we are all anxious. When my kitties of 16 & 17 years of age passed over the rainbow bridge, they helped me find the most compassionate and comfortable goodbye for them and sent a sweet card with a donation in their honor. I truly only have positive thoughts and feelings toward their practice. I’m so grateful I stumbled on the clinic 6 years ago.“

8250 SW Tonka St, Tualatin“We are beyond grateful for the emergency care given to our 11 year old German Shepherd by Dr. Suubi and all of the staff. We were visiting Portland over the weekend when we got a call from our usual vet Saturday morning that our dog's blood work revealed a dangerous level of anemia. Our vet asked us to get her in for an emergency blood transfusion immediately. Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin was able to answer all of our questions over the phone and we decided to bring our dog in that afternoon. The intake process was very quick and efficient. The vet tech was very knowledgeable and understood the urgency. We were able to have X-rays done and consult with Dr. Suubi in a very short amount of time. She was great at explaining the situation and spending the time to answer all of our questions. We ended up leaving our dog there through the evening in order to have the transfusion done and were promptly called at 2am for pick-up when it was done. The post op instructions very were clear and so was the pricing and paperwork. Overall, the whole team was very professional, efficient, and compassionate during a very stressful situation. We highly recommend!“

“My dog is a young senior and had a new murmur with otherwise excellent health. The doctors and staff explained that she should have a full life undeterred by her heart as long as I change her diet to include grains and not include many legumes (beans, peas, and lentils) as it's suspected they may interfere with the absorption of taurine. Studies have not proven this connection yet, so we cannot be certain, but apparently many other dogs they have seen have had their health improve once switching diets. The office is clean and calm and the doctor was happy to thoroughly answer my questions. Thank you!“
