“We started off with Ryan when we were looking for a trainer who was a good fit for our son who has some special needs. Ryan looked at him as a whole person and treated him with respect while working to meet his fitness goals. The rapport that came from the working relationship led me to become a client as well.My personal goals of functional fitness as I approach 50 years old are being met because Ryan works with me as a client to identify challenges and rather than sidestep physical issues, we work in a complimentary way to strengthen injuries and work toward maintaining mobility. I consider Ryan a friend but he also is able to maintain a professional approach. I believe this is due to his passion for knowledge, open mind to change things as they evolve and his depth of expertise in physical training. We spend a fair amount of time discussing stress and take a wholistic approach to mind/body /life balance. Ryan has stood by me patiently as I have fought to achieve strength and conditioning goals only to be knocked down by illness time and time again. I am learning that you have to keep moving, even if it means taking a pause, reframing your outlook or starting at square one again. I am also gaining perspective form another point of view about what success is. Left on my own, I would not be aware of the gains I've made and the benefits to my life through working out with Ryan. If you are critical of yourself like I am, it can be easy to fail to see your own progress. I am grateful for the time I get to spend working out and the accountability having a personal trainer brings and I would not want to do it with any other person. Thank you Ryan.“

“Super positive experience training with Krista! Although I only recently started training with her, I feel like I’ve made the right choice.Because I have a few injuries I am particular about who I work with to ensure I’m not causing further issues. Krista knows her stuff and is easily able to modify exercises as we go to accommodate injuries. The sessions are appropriately challenging with interesting, new exercises and there aren’t any concerning pains for those injured areas after training. My shoulder feels more mobile/pain-free than it had been in months (better than after physical therapy sessions)She spends time at the end of the session doing stretching and massage work that resolved some awful neck pain I had been having for weeks! I went from experiencing daily neck pain to being virtually pain-free after just my first session. She has an enthusiastic, encouraging energy that makes the training fun, the gym is clean/nice/well-stocked with a variety of equipment, and the vibe is just good. Highly recommend!“

“Oregon CrossFit is a fantastic gym that I feel so fortunate to have found. I found OC through a post by a fellow mama in a Bend facebook post sharing info about the Momfit cohort/program that coach Jules teaches. I was appx 4 months postpartum with my second child looking for a way to build back strength. I loved everything about Jules’ classes. I loved that I could bring my baby (or not), meet other mamas and build community, get strength guidance from a fellow mom that’s mindful of pelvic floor strength. Jules is also everything you want in a coach - approachable, kind, funny, smart, and strong. Once I finished the one round of the Momfit cohort I wanted to graduate to the general population fitness courses or “regular CrossFit”. I completed four personal training sessions with Michael to go over all the common weight lifting positions that would be covered in class. He was so incredibly patient with me, answering all my questions about proper form and my mom brain forgetting just about every rep I was on all the time. I also met Kelly (another coach) randomly at Trader Joes during all of this and through that one encounter have found another friendly person to chat with as I start general classes. To summarize my lengthy review, my enthusiasm for this gym and the experience come down to a couple of things:1) I love the support they extend to mamas, getting us back into the gym with the focus being on our health, strength, and enjoyment2) Not once have I left a class on the floor. Don’t get me wrong, the classes are hard, but compared to other CrossFit gyms it’s nice that they’re not going for the shock and awe of every workout being the hardest of your life. They’re focused on getting people strong and consistent over the long haul.3) The people are kind and I notice (and love) the variation they have in ages in the class. I regularly see folks 60+, 20 something and all in between. It brings a nice energy to the gym and opportunities to connect with people in different phases of life.If you’re on the fence in trying CrossFit or coming back to the gym, come here. You’ll be so happy you invested in yourself by investing in this community. I’m so grateful I took the leap. I look forward to every chance I get to move my body, meet new people, and learn new skills and new capabilities I didn’t know I had.“
