5513 Bigger Rd, Kettering“At Ninjobstacles, our 8 year old son loved open gym and wants to return!We are on the difficult mission to find our son a great regular fitness class that he will love and commit to. We're interested in trying out a class to see what it entails and if it's the right fit.I like the all the room and huge open space the kids can use, as well as the thick padded gym mats for safety.The place appeared clean, smelled clean and the air conditioning worked well for cooling and air flow. Also, there were picnic tables for parents (with chess and checkers boards) to watch their children.One side is for ages 12 and under; the other side is for ages 13 and older (or whatever your child can easily reach, per staff).However, I was really expecting more variation in the obstacles like ramps, ropes and climbing walls. More swinging options too. Instead, there are mostly a few different styles of monkey bars.I wondered if Ninjobstacles is currently under construction and/or new obstacles/features will be added in the future. Inside the building, it appeared unfinished, including repainting the walls.“
“I went to one of Jo's yoga classes and had an incredibly beneficial experience. Jo obviously has a wealth of knowledge as well as a kind, approachable demeanor. I'm convinced that she knows more about my hypermobile EDS body than I do. Updated equipment, very clean, even guest are cleaning when their done with equipment which is a plus too! The front desk/workers are really nice greeting everyone and not on their phones, actually doing their job. The atmosphere just feels great in there. The bathrooms are clean , nice and cool. They even have blow dryers for after a shower! Only thing I wish is that the showers were more private and had somewhere to put your clothes/towels for after the shower. But other than that no complaints!“

All in all - its provides value for the price. My only critique would be the bathroom floor is not super clean and they do occasionally run out of paper towels or spray to wash down the machines. To the other reviewers complaining about people taking too long on the machines... that's a tough one for staff to address. Couldn't you just go up and ask, "how many sets you have left?" - not a big deal.“

“Before I started working with John I never had any real guidance or coaching in any fitness aspect of my life so... I wasn't sure what to expect. My biggest concern was being judged for my (lack of) fitness and also fitting a routine into a fairly busy schedule.I was relieved when I started working with John that there was no judgment. He was upfront with where I was lacking but presented it in a matter-of-fact fashion without judging me for letting myself get there. That approach worked well for me so I knew early on John would be a good fit for me. He was also able to tailor a routine to fit my schedule and is very flexible if I need to move appointments around.Earlier this year my daughter was born. Being a little older than the average new dad, I quickly realized I wanted to be around for her long as long as possible. My biggest goals were weight loss and just general improvement to my health.I've been training with John for about 2.5 months. The achievements he's helped me make already are amazing, I can honestly say I'm in the best shape of my adult life. I've lost over 20 pounds (it would be more if I behaved better on vacation and over Thanksgiving), feel amazing, and have gained strength and mobility. It's been eye-opening how much more strength and mobility improve your day-to-day life and help me better keep up with an active little one. Before training, I couldn't (gracefully) lift my daughter up over my head and let her ride on my shoulders. Now it's a very easy motion for me, and she loves riding up there.Working with John has been great, he provides great motivation without judgment. He knows how to get quick results even when you don't have a ton of time to dedicate to fitness. I enjoy my sessions with John and the improvements he's already helped me make provide more than enough motivation to keep at it to become even stronger and healthier.“
