“I have been wearing glasses since I’m 3 years old, now 36. I have poor eyesight, -10.5 in each eye, a recipe for very, thick, awful looking lens. I had been referred to The Optical Shop recently, and spent quite a bit of time looking at frames with the dynamic mother daughter duo, placing an order for a pair of frames atypical from my usual style. About a week later they were ready, and WOW. I was floored. The lens looked, dare I say, normal?! Just a regular pair of gorgeous glasses. “I came to my first exam expecting A less than positive experience. I had seen Dr Calinda previously at New York Presbyterian medical group. He performed cataract surgery on both eyes in May. I had two follow up appointments, post surgery and then received the phone call from his office telling me he was leaving the practice. After finding out, he was moving to OCL in Hawthorne. I called immediately to schedule an appointment. I was then told that the doctor would not be scheduling any appointments until October 1. I scheduled such an appointment but was skeptical so I went to see a new ophthalmologist. She encouraged me to follow up with the Doctor Who performed the surgery. When I arrived at OCLI I was seen promptly by very courteous staff and Dr. Calinda who scheduled me two weeks later for laser treatment to clean up my left eye. All the staff there seems excellent and Dr. Calinda is also very good. I had complications post laser with very high pressure in my left eye and I was told to come in the next day for the doctor to check it out. Once again, Dr. Calinda saw me promptly his assistance were very accommodating and kind and he acted very quickly to put me on for different eyedrop’s. I have now had my third visit, post laser, treatment, and seeing much better. So while I was very upset that Dr. Calinda left his previous practice so suddenly I am happy with the with the Care I have received at OCLI I’m not usually happy with corporatized medical care, but this case in medical network specializing in vision care seems to be equipped to handle issues from cataracts to dry eye syndrome. I hope this level of service continues as I am pleasantly surprised.“
