“I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank the staff at Moloney’s Funeral Home in Port Jefferson Station for the compassion and support they showed my family during my father’s passing a few days ago.
After my father passed away at 2:00 AM at Quantum Rehab facility, I immediately called the Moloney’s funeral home for guidance. Karen Gifford answered the phone, offered her heartfelt condolences, and calmly reassured me that they would take care of everything. She arranged for my father to be brought from the rehab facility to the funeral home, which brought great comfort during such a difficult moment.
Over the next few days, Karen, Blase Whittington Donna DeMarco and Father Mickey Bancroft treated my family with incredible kindness and understanding. Planning a service and making arrangements—especially choosing a casket and other details—was very emotional. Karen handled every step with patience and sensitivity. She never pressured us into upgrades or unnecessary purchases, and she made sure we felt supported rather than overwhelmed.
Throughout the process, Karen and her staff didn’t feel like just professionals helping us—they felt like part of our family during one of the hardest times of our lives.
My father was a proud Navy veteran, and Karen also took the time to contact the VA to ensure he would be buried with the military honors he deserved. That meant so much to us and was a beautiful tribute to his service.
