175-25 139th Rd, Queens“My wife and I have been clients for over 3 years now. What we love about Jeff, our trainer at Maceus Studios, is his kind, courteous, and patient personality. You meet first Jeff, the kind and decent human being before you meet Jeff, the sculpted trainer. He motivates you with a courteous firmness to strive towards your fitness goal. He keeps himself informed in health and fitness so he can impart the most tailored advice specific for you. Moreover, his fees are very reasonable. He offers two for one packages for couples and training buddies. This not only helps offset the cost, but it provides motivation for you to be more consistent when you have a training partner to go to the gym with you.
The other trainers at the gym reflect Jeff's courtesy and decency even if they have their own personality and training style. But in sum, we have no regrets about joining Maceus Studios. Thanks to Jeff and Maceus Studios, we have become more consistently health and fitness conscious.“

23-07 24th Ave, Queens“Strong is a great gym with great teachers. I have been taking the adult kickboxing classes for over a year and I love it! The gym provides a safe, friendly atmosphere and it is amazing what a great workout you get in one hour! Students range from 16 to 60, men and women.I had worked out in other ways over the years but had never done kickboxing before. It is definitely challenging at first but in 2-3 weeks, you get in the groove for both the conditioning and the kick-boxing parts. And it's way more fun than programs like Orange Theory or just lifting weights.I highly recommend Strong Martial Arts. It really is a great workout option for all skill levels.“

The instructor, Sensei Igor Novik, is highly skilled and possesses a deep understanding of Aikido principles, ensuring that each class is both educational and engaging. He is patient and attentive, making sure that students of all levels feel welcome and are able to progress at their own pace. The dojo maintains a respectful and positive atmosphere, which contributes to a great learning environment. Overall, this school offers an excellent blend of traditional Aikido techniques with elements of Kickboxing, making it an ideal place for anyone looking to learn self-defense and get in great shape. Come by and try a class :)“
“I've been at this location for around twenty years as part of the Judo program. The school also teaches traditional Japanese jujutsu, and has a karate/Taekwondo program for kids. The Judo program has adults, teens and children. There is ample seating for observing visitors/parents.
The instructors are competent, but they are also friendly and honest.
The place has two mats, a weight room, male and female bathrooms, and lockers. The main mat is constructed on a platform that has some give to it, which reduces the impact of falls.“

38 S Dean St, Englewood“TSMA Englewood has completely transformed me—physically, mentally, and socially. Before I started training here, I was just an average Asian Joe, unsure of myself and what I was capable of. I could barely make it through half a class, both physically and mentally, and my shyness held me back from truly connecting with others.
But six months later, everything has changed.
Now, I train 5 days a week while working 6 days, and I feel stronger and more resilient than I ever thought possible. I’ve gone from avoiding conversations to starting them with confidence, from feeling average to realizing that I’m capable of so much more than I ever imagined.
The program here is nothing short of life-changing. The instructors are passionate and supportive, and my classmates are genuinely encouraging and uplifting. It’s a community that pushes you to be your best self, even on the toughest days.
From my personal experience, I’ve learned that once you reach the point where you truly believe you can do anything with effort, you become unstoppable. Fearless. Limitless. There’s no obstacle too big, no goal too far away.
This journey has taught me the power of persistence and self-belief. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I know this is just the beginning. To anyone doubting themselves: trust the process, embrace the pain, enjoy the suffering and never stop pushing. You’re stronger than your excuses, you’re tougher than your belly fat!
Good job to me—and to the amazing team at TSMA Englewood for helping me unlock this version of myself. Here’s to even greater heights ahead!“
