“My son has been attending UTDC since April 2024. When first enrolling him I was nervous because he has Autism & ADHD and I wasn’t sure how the instructors would handle him but I must commend each and every one of them. They are absolutely trained and equipped to deal with all children. When I say as a single parent that works 2 jobs I have struggled finding a program or sport that would be accepting of him and I have to say they welcomed my son with open arms. He has faced behavioral issues that have made it very difficult for him at times but since starting taekwondo he has made great strides and this is all due to the instructors! The discipline instilled, compassion and patience from every instructor has ignited a spark in my son that I have never seen before and I am so grateful. Thank You UTDC for being a part of my son’s life! FYI he told me won’t stop until he becomes a black belt??“

Bay Ridge Dojo Martial Arts Schools

“The Bay Ridge Dojo is hands down one of the most exceptional martial training centers out there. I first stepped through its doors in 1985, and though life has taken me away from time to time, I’ve always found myself coming back. There’s a reason this dojo has stood the test of time while so many others have fallen by the wayside. The family-like atmosphere combined with a no-nonsense approach to self-defense creates an environment that’s both welcoming and serious about personal growth.

What sets BRD apart is its balance between staying true to its core principles while continually evolving to meet the demands of modern self-defense. The training here is grounded in reality, and it’s served me well throughout my career as both a Marine and a Police Officer with the NYPD. This is not a place where you’ll learn flashy, ineffective techniques. At BRD, you’re trained to survive and thrive in any confrontation, whether it’s through de-escalation, tactical maneuvers, or straight-up combat when necessary. The goal is simple: win and go home safe.

The instructors are first-class professionals in their respective fields, and each one brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to their teaching. If you’re looking for a martial arts school that will push you, protect you, and make you feel like part of a family, look no further. The Bay Ridge Dojo has been my second home, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.“

“Located on one of Brooklyn’s busiest street, you can find a small location but large in life, is Tiger Schulmann’s Bay Ridge. It does not disappoint. Try out a class for free and see it for yourself.“

“An amazing martial arts school. I've been. Studying jujitsu , aikido and occasionally doing the cardio kickboxing classes. I've gotten healthier and much better as a martial artist. Highly recommended real school! Also GM Bill is great with the kids. I can't wait for my son to be old enough for the kids class !“

“■Master Roman is the best, he is warm and kind to the students but at the same time he is strict and pushes them to follow the rules, he teaches them to respect parents and teachers. My children are 3 and 5 years old (girl and boy) and I have seen enormous progress in their social and communication skills. When we started classes in November I saw other children who were very shy and now they are already participating in the class and it is seen that they enjoy it a lot...I had many expectations that have been pleasantly satisfied.■Teacher Roman is the best, he is warm and kind to the students but at the same time he is strict and pushes them to follow the rules, he teaches them to respect parents and teachers. “It's one of the best gyms I have ever been.I can easily say that's the number one gym.Great coaches(one of the coaches is Turan) and great team. They have two groups over there.First to kids(7-14 y.o),second to adults (15-20y.o).Even that gym size is not so big then others gym,but I can't change that gym to another gym because of the great team and coaches to the bigger gym.HERE NO MARCY, YOU CAN BE NEXT CHAMP IN K1 OR NOBODY IN OTHER GYMS.“

“Love Green Gym! They’ve got pretty much all the equipment one needs + amazing boxing facility and also a very neat outside area which is great to use in the summers. I work out with my trainer Arjang Jameh there who has been a fantastic teacher - not only have I learnt so much about fitness and exercises + corrective movement from him, but also had great fitness results under his tutelage!“
