“For the most part, I had an excellent experience. Customer service when I called was friendly and efficient. The technician, Casey, demonstrated high proficiency, knowledge, and attention to detail. I called for a tune up on the furnace and an issue with hot water in an upstairs shower. Casey identified 2 very serious issues that could've been disastrous down the line. Leaking under the tub, and another above the furnace. I was especially pleased how he showed patience and kindness to my 82 year old mother with stage 4 Alzheimers. He responded graciously and made her day.
My only critiques have to do with the estimates and cost. Amazingly, what was quoted to be a full day of repairs, only took him 5 hours. I found that quite impressive, however, it did not change the labor cost on the estimate. I was given an estimateto sign on for a thousand dollars on replacing a drain kit in the tub based on the potential of having to saw through the floor to access where the leak was happening. In the end, the job did not require that excessive work which saved time, yet I was still charged for the full estimate. When I googled the cost for the kit, it ranged between a hundred and three hundred dollars. Unfortunately, parts are not itemized with cost on the billing. Nor is labor time by hour. Overall, we had to pay around $4800 for about 8 hours labor plus parts--valve replacement in the shower and pipe extension over furnace. Customer service and accommodations are certainly exceptional, but I would like more transparency in the estimates and billing.“

“We recently hired Al Terry for two separate projects, and they exceeded our expectations on both. The first was installing heat in our basement, and the second was converting our furnace from oil to natural gas, which also included removing our old oil tank.
Every employee who came to our home was friendly, professional, and courteous throughout the entire process. One person, in particular, truly stood out: Randy. He is an outstanding representative of the company and provided exceptional customer service from start to finish.
Randy helped me navigate the financing process with Service Finance. It required a great deal of work on his end, but he went above and beyond to find the best option for us and made the entire process as smooth as possible.
We also ran into an issue with the subcontractor hired to remove our oil tank. They repeatedly failed to commit to a removal date and then backed out at the last minute. After I shared my concerns with Randy, he immediately stepped in. He worked with management and arranged for an Al Terry crew to remove the tank on the day we were expecting, despite the subcontractor canceling again. That level of responsiveness and commitment meant a great deal to us.
Even after the work was completed, Randy continued to provide outstanding support. I had a few follow-up questions about detectors, and he responded to my text messages promptly and without hesitation.
Al Terry is fortunate to have an employee like Randy. He genuinely cares about his customers and consistently goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done right. His dedication and professionalism made a lasting impression on us.

“Best experience with a service provider I’ve ever had. Customer service was outstanding from the moment I called. Sandy answered—she felt like a close friend immediately. They prioritized my residential installation 2 days before a major holiday (4th of July) and it was 100 degrees outside! Kevin, the service manager, was also extremely friendly, professional, sincere and honest. The AC replacement and installation cost over $10k, which was terrible news, but it was the most favorable experience I’ve ever had with a service provider despite having to spend that kind of money unexpectedly. They did project in 2 days and Kevin’s coming back to check on things next week. Kevin gave men his cell and is super accessible. Same with Sandy. I can text them and they respond within minutes. My house is already cooling down and they finished the project 20 minutes ago! BTW, I feel very safe having them in my home whether or not I’m there. Finally, I’ve worked with the same small, family-owned service provider (heating and plumbing group) in Manchester that my family has worked with for 40+ years—and they’re family friends—but I’m switching to SAM for all my AC (and almost certainly my heating and plumbing) needs now because my service and experience was that outstanding. “I have used Randy since 2010. I was fed up with the big name place. They installed a new furnace which I didn't think I needed but it was in the middle of winter. They showed me a photo with a crack and said could be fatal. Don't know much about that so had to take their word but what I read online it could also be a scam. Not saying it was. When Summer arrived water was leaking from old AC unit on top of new furnace through the inside of the furnace. That should have been replaced at the same time. My guess was it was winter and they knew they could make more money if done separately. They also rushed to get out by 5 PM and would not have time to complete both. After that besides other issues in the past from their bad work (a short in wiring took weeks to find) I tried another place to install my AC. I went with the cheap guy. He begged begged begged me for the job. I felt bad and gave it to him. The problem was after he got paid he didn't want to come back to finish as promised. He said he had to leave to pick up his kid and would be back "tomorrow". It was just chalking around a hole he made way too big. I had to shame him to come back. I don't want mice in my basement.
Randy was my next try and I have stuck with him ever since. Besides cleanings and repairs he has installed a gas stove and tankless hot water heater for me.
The 2 times I desperately needed him he though he showed up the same day and even rearranged his schedule. Both times were very hot days and years apart. The first was in 2013. While caring for my elderly mother, I got home from an errand and my home was getting very hot. Somehow a leak developed in the system. This AC was just installed in 2010 and not by Randy. I wish it was. He gave me 2 options which was to try to find the leak that could be a pin hole or try leak freeze. I went with the latter.
The second time was just 2 Summer's ago. Again I was desperate. My mom since passed but one of my dogs' was ailing from cancer. I never mentioned mine only my dog's but Randy again felt bad and showed up sooner than later even though he was out on another call.
I attached a pic. A switch was burnt out on the outside unit and then a transformer needed to be replaced inside furnace. I watched most of the time because I hadn't seen Randy in a while and was having good conversation. I was impressed how fast he diagnosed my broken AC and got it up and running again. I do know a little and I am mechanically inclined but some things I won't touch. I will flush my tankless hot water heater but I will not try to repair it. I have also repaired my humidifier next to furnace. I am a woman too if that matters.
To the woman who complained here about the part being costly. You could have ordered it yourself and waited for however long it took to get and then have it installed. Randy uses his gas, time and money to pick up whatever he needs. I could give out the number of the second guy I tried or the first if you would like...
To the woman who mentioned the toilet. What is wrong with you? Seriously. What is wrong with you? It sounds like you agreed to the price then bullied him afterwards for $200. That wasn't good enough so you give him a bad review.
I like the fact that Randy is trustworthy in my home, quick and efficient. He deserve what the labor cost is in the books even if he's fast. This is how the real world operates.“
