4716-A Sharon Rd Suite A, Charlotte“Merlot had gastrointestinal surgery due to a blockage. This surgery was done at Wilkinson Animal Hospital and he received excellent care there, however he needed an overnight stay at a 24 hour hospital. He was transferred to VEG and from the moment we arrived it was evident this was a different type of Emergency vet care. First, pets and pet parents are not sequestered away, and pets are not taken off to a treatment area away from their family. Merlot did excellent with all the other animals who were there getting treated. There was a rabbit, a chinchilla, a cat, and several dogs of a variety of sizes and breeds and injuries and illnesses. Astonishingly, they all seemed to understand that this was a special place. There was no barking or reactivity. Just quiet observation from treatment area to treatment area.
Merlot seemed much less traumatized getting his various lab draws and is IV placed. He was curious, but such a good boy.
I was encouraged to stay if I wanted to, but I needed to go home and rest so I could be ready to take care of him. I was also assured that I could call if I needed/wanted to check in on him, but that if there was any change they would call me. I called about 2:30 am and got an update. The doctor called me about 6:30 am with an update and a time that my baby would be discharged. Throughout the process everyone worked to make sure that my furrbaby was top priority with his care team and that I got the support I needed to be his best Hooman Mom. Photos of Merle waiting his turn and then back home resting in floor and snuggle under his blankie“

5105A Piper Station Dr, Charlotte“My two dogs (a rescued pitbull and a pit mix) usually see Dr. Wood or Dr. Williams and have always had positive experiences.)That’s why I was surprised and disappointed with a recent visit with Dr. Elizabeth Brown for my foster dog, Armani, a 1-year-old pitbull rescue. Armani is very sweet, though he can be excitable and nervous during exams. While Dr. Brown did examine him, I felt the interaction could have been more welcoming and supportive. She did not greet or introduce herself at the start, and her demeanor seemed uncomfortable with Armani’s energy. During the exam, when he was moving around, she audibly expressed frustration by saying “ugh, ugh” and even commented that her back would hurt if she had to keep trying, before sitting on the bench usually meant for clients. These kinds of remarks made the situation feel more stressful rather than calming. She also kept mentioning that Armani “needs a lot of work” and suggested that a certain treatment option might make him “more aggressive.” I have to note he showed zero aggression. And he’s gone a long way since I got him at the shelter, which I made sure to mention. When I asked if she meant “edgy” or “nervous,” not “aggressive” she quickly backtracked, but by then the tone of the visit felt discouraging and gave me the impression of an unfair bias against his breed. As a foster parent, I work hard to help Armani feel safe and cared for, and I hope that all veterinarians he sees can support that effort with patience and compassion. Small changes in communication, such as a warm greeting, clearer explanations, and more positive reinforcement, would go a long way in building trust with both pets and owners, especially with breeds that often face stigma. I share this feedback not to criticize, but in the hope it can be helpful. I know Piper Glen has wonderful staff (including Sienna who was very sweet and kind to Armani) and I want Armani (and other pets like him) to receive the same respectful, supportive care I’ve always experienced here with my other dogs.“

She even had her kids at work when I was there with all the crazy weather we had and school closings yet still did a great job. She was complimentary of my dog. Even the little things she did like kneel down to get to eye level with me while I was sitting on the bench go a long way. My pup and I are looking forward to our next visit with Dr. Barnes!“

240 Main St, Fort Mill“Our boxer had a growth on her eye, and our regular vet couldn’t see us soon enough. Fort Mill Animal Hospital was able to get us in quickly for both the consultation and the surgery. We were incredibly impressed with the doctor. Not only was the surgery a success, but the results were amazing—it honestly looked like doggy plastic surgery. You can barely see the stitches. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome, and we’re actually glad our regular vet was booked because we had such a wonderful experience here. Will most likely transfer all 3 dogs to FM Animal Hospital!!“

They're looking into all what can be causing her problems. I'm so happy I was referred here for help. The tech and dr spent so much time discussing her problem, testing.,explaining everything and ask8 if I had any questions. Thank you so much for everything for my fur baby. 401 S Sharon Amity Rd A, Charlotte“I switched to Cotswold Animal Hospital for my 2 dogs this year and I couldn’t be happier with the care they provide. The vets and all staff have been so kind and friendly-they really care about my dogs having a comfortable and positive experience. It has been easy to get appointments for problem focused and well care visits, and we have gotten in and out without long wait times. The office runs very efficiently and I love being able to request appointments online with a timely response. I appreciate that the vets don’t immediately jump to doing a bunch of tests and procedures immediately when one of the dogs has a problem-one of my dogs recently had an issue and Dr.May recommended watchful waiting. This saved my girl a painful procedure and me money because the problem resolved without any need for treatment. I highly recommend this practice!
Update 4/7/23
I continue to love this Vet practice and their approach to the pets and parents they serve. The sweet front desk staff, the vet techs/assistants, and the vets all work together to make our visits as stress free as possible. We were worked in for an urgent visit on a very busy day and we felt like we were the only ones they had to take care of. Dr White and his assistant Michelle did an amazing job taking the time my fearful dog needed to have the best possible experience. I have now met all 4 of the vets here and I can’t say enough about their kindness and care if my dogs and me. I am so grateful for my Vet Home.“

13667 Providence Rd, Matthews“They’ve been great with our adopted German Shepherd who can be quite timid at the vet. Our previous vet was so rude about our dog and gave me anxiety just bringing her in. Glad to have found Weddington instead.
We also had to put down our 15 year old dog and they were phenomenal. Took their time letting me have a moment, gave him a final treat of chocolate and cookies (all the things he never got to have), took paw print molds. So kind and understanding.“

Dr. Humphreys is thorough in his exams and takes time to explain his rationale for treatment choices and answers all questions. I never feel rushed and he does not make you feel pressured into anything you aren’t comfortable with. With an older dog, I choose to keep testing and medications to a minimum and he allows me the freedom to do that. He offers me the option to do what is necessary to keep my dog comfortable without causing him undue stress. I highly recommend Dr. Humphreys and this clinic!!“

“I’ve been bringing my dog here for almost five years now, ever since I first got him, and I couldn’t ask for a better veterinary team. Everyone is always so kind, professional, and easy to work with. Whether it’s been routine vaccinations, checkups, or today’s dental cleaning (our first time doing one under anesthesia), I’ve always felt completely confident that my dog is in good hands. I was really nervous about the dental procedure, but the entire process was smooth, reassuring, and handled with such care and attention. I truly appreciate how well the clinic is run, how well we’re treated every time, and the genuine love they show for animals. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dog’s care!“
