I spent considerable time/energy contacting what I felt to be the most professional companies… with high review ratings and recommended by Angie’s List. Coldstream was one of them. Kevin came out, inspected my roof and then talked with me at length. He was very professional and personable… but just as important to me, he was very honest in telling me my roof would probably last a few more years… but he gave me pros and cons for waiting versus replacing it now. He also pointed to a problem my previous roof had that I was unaware of and recommended a fix of that problem also. After much consideration, I went with Coldstream because I trusted Kevin (he didn’t try to “hard sell” me, a single woman, as other companies have done) and their pricing was good… not too high, not too low. “Rarely do reviews unless a company deserves one. This guy name Brian went out to check my gutters and showed me one of my downspouts was clogged. He told me it was an easy fix and would do it for me for no charge. He went up there on my roof and checked my roof and gutters so see if there were any issues. This guy was very professional and so honest. I've never seen a company doing something for a customer for free. This company definitely got my business in the future with my roof or gutters! Sorting the list which is rife with scam outfits, fly by night out of town LLC's who flood the area after a bad weather event, mixed in with legitimate national and local family run operations can be time consuming and frustrating. I live in a townhome community where our HOA comprises 5 units with each unit made up of 4-5 single family dwellings. Built in 2007 many had developed leaks needing repair. At almost 20 years it was time to consider across the board roof replacement rather than paying for expensive and short term band aid fixes. As of today 4 of the 5 separate buildings have been completed with the final one remaining to be done later this year. The intent was to contract with a single roof company to do all the work. What you look for is a company that's established with a verifiable track record, that's reliable, staffed with skilled project managers who listen, and last but NOT least professional, competent installers because you're only as good as the quality of your work. Price is always a major consideration but you live with what you get and you get what you pay for so that's part of the equation. The final cost was based on a contract that included all 5 units, and volume equals better pricing so there we had a clear advantage.
