“Once upon a time, there were many places that would repair common household items from toasters to TV's. Today, if something breaks, the only choice is to throw it away and buy a new one. One of the few exceptions is Twin City Vacuum in Crystal, which repairs all kinds of vacuum cleaners. I have used them many times to repair everything from electric cords (they can even put a longer cord on the vacuum) to broken belts to issues with the motor. Twin City Vacuum is a great value because it's much cheaper to fix a vacuum than to buy a new one - often the new ones are of lower quality. Plus fixing an appliance is even more ecological than recycling. You can also buy a wide range of replacement parts such as bags and belts. The owners are very knowledgeable and accommodating. “Tech fixed my dryer and I now have a working unit. However, this was the second time that I had to have a part(s) replaced, costing nearly 400.00 in the past 2 1/2 months. First, it was the thermostat. Now, it was the heating element and a round disc that was rusted and not turning properly.“
