“I'm a relatively new homeowner of a 95 year old, classic GR home who had a feeling I was getting manipulated by another company (Vredevoogd) regarding my slow drains. They came over, looked at the pipes in the basement, and told me the only solution was an 11 THOUSAND dollar full system replace. “I first met Larry and his crew a couple of years ago when we moved into an old house in Heritage Hill. They tuck pointed the chimney, installed a new cap and repaired our two inoperable fireplaces.Living in a drafty Heritage Hill home during the winter requires an ongoing effort to keep the cold out and the heat in. I was aware that our fireplaces lacked flue dampers but just lived with it our 1st two winters. I researched having chimney cap dampers installed but always held off because of the cost.I texted Larry a couple of weeks ago, sent him a picture of the open flues, and asked for an estimate. He got back to me right away and was able to install the caps within a couple of days. The job involved using a lift to move the installers to the top of the chimney where they snaked two cables down the separate flues to the fireboxes. The cables were clamped in place by a pull chain.We noticed a difference in the temperature in our living room and master bedroom almost immediately. The dampers are easy to use and seem to be very efficient. A couple of days after the installation the clamp in our living room fireplace came loose. I texted Larry a picture of the issue and he had his installers over the next day to fortify the clamp.I’ve found Larry and his staff to be really reliable and responsive. I feel very comfortable that if a problem pops up he will handle it. I highly recommend B&B.“
